[OS] Aaron & Asa Go Retro!

Post by TorquayFans.com »

There was another fantastic turnout for our latest Retro Gulls event on Thursday, with special guests Aaron Downes and Asa Hall in attendance! Undoubtedly the highlight of the latest event was the presence of Interim Manager Aaron Downes and Club Captain Asa Hall, who took centre-stage for a lengthy question and answers session, where they answered a number of questions from the Retro Gulls. With around about 40 supporters in attendance, the pair answered every question asked, with topics discussed including the current squad and morale, as well as the amazing support received from the Yellow Army, and beyond. Image This month’s quiz saw the beginning of a new era, as each month going forward, one Retro Gull will take charge in accumulating questions, before hosting the popular, and eagerly contested quiz. February’s quiz was hosted by Gordon Avery, who got the room thinking with ten questions including a combination of football and general knowledge questions. Once again, it was another competitive and closely-contested affair, with three teams all tied on 7/10. The Club would like to thank everyone who attended our latest Retro Gulls event, with our March meeting due to take place on Thursday 28th March, before our final event of the season will be on Thursday 18th April, with both events scheduled for 2pm-4pm in Boots & Laces.   About Retro Gulls With the health and wellbeing in residents aged 50 and over widely recognised as another important aspect of community care within Torbay, supporters aged 50 and over will be invited to attend events in Boots & Laces once a month, with United stars present and past due to be in attendance for each meeting. The Club will be focused on all things Torquay United, and will provide the opportunity to get Torquay talking. These events will give our ‘Retro Gulls’ the chance to discuss the current team, and those of yesteryear, with both fellow supporters and United stars past and present. Image The events will vary each month, with future activities set to include fitness sessions, skittles, programme swap-shops, quizzes, bingo, workshops and much more! The post Aaron & Asa Go Retro! first appeared on Torquay United.
