Wigan enter administration

Post by grockle »

The first, of what will probably be a lot more, of the FL clubs to enter administration since the onset of the pandemic.
If a club in the Championship, with Tv money, higher sponsorship revenue, etc can not survive, it does not bode well for clubs in lower divisions of the FL, or, for clubs in lower leagues.
Let us hope, that when football does return, we will still have a team to watch. :scarf:

I think it is reasonable to say at least 10 or so clubs will find themselves in the position very shortly and do not be suprised it we find ourselves in double digits as time goes on - many clubs are only trading because they are deferring wages, tax and other creditors.

If this does occur we could well see Johnson's stance come into play of the national league joining the EFL with a north and south division.
