Which is how it should be done! Just shows what a complete f... up the Owers appointment was from start to finish.

Still, all history now. Onwards and upwards!!!

Any objective overview would suggest that they were both shit but Owers was shittest. Anyway, as you say, onwards and upwards. COYY.

As others have said feeling positive about this appointment.

Let get behind him and the boys. We have an FA Cup game in 9 days time, let all get down to Lymington - show our support and win a cup game. Bring a friend (or two), we will take the place over.

Listened to the interview and it was nice to hear GJ refer to the Woking game as a six pointer. Positive talk and hopefully a sign of things to come.

Brilliant appointment . A proper manager with contacts and a proven track record. Where are all the GO apologists and conspiracy theorists now.
But that said this feels like a new start and maybe some unity is what’s needed now to go with the optimism.

On the Devon Live podcast, he said he hoped there would be 4,000 (attendance) for the "6 pointer" against Woking! Would love it if we got anywhere near that but can't see it happening.

A quick check on Wikipedia suggests that Gary Johnson is the most successful manager we have EVER signed with five promotions under his belt (Yeovil (3), Bristol City and Cheltenham).

Didn’t see this coming, probably the best appointment we could have wished for at this level. I still think that even GJ will struggle with our strike force until he brings in a couple players. To be fair to Owers his defence wasnt too bad at this level when they are all fit, he failed by not bringing in a targetman.

I expect Pitman and Gowling to return as soon as their loan deals allow as GJ will want to give them a good looking at before making any decisions regarding their future at TUFC.

An exciting appointment and the first sensible one since Martin Ling was unjustifiably sacked. Gary will need substantial financial backing to arrange decent loan signings [hopefully son Lee will be able to provide some Bristol City youngsters looking for experience] until the new manager can unearth some hidden gems on permanent transfers.

This is, I think, only my second post since the end of the Kevin Nicholson era because I had lost all interest and felt we were doomed to oblivion unless changes were made.

Gary will not have come cheaply in terms of salary- just hope he receives the finance, can weed out the dross and make it clear to those remaining and new entrants that their position is not a sinecure and that they are very fortunate to have full time salaries at this level
