The Launa Windows Stadium
Not sure if this has been mentioned on another thread yet but I think it's worthy of its own.
Plainmoor Stadium is no longer.

Thoughts? Unless the £ Figure is right i'm going to struggle to accept this.

Makes no difference whatsoever. No one other than the sponsor itself and the club will be referring to it as anything other than 'Plainmoor'.

They can call the stadium whatever they want. And you can call the stadium whatever you want. Pretty much every old stadium and arena in every sport over here in America has had some corporate name slapped on it. And everyone ignores those corporate names and calls the stadiums by their old, proper names. I just read the article stating what Plainmoor's new name is...and I've already forgotten the new name. It's Plainmoor.
Also, @InsideWhateverTheNewNameIs is going to be way too long and awkward a Twitter handle for the club. Someone should have thought about that.

Agreed, the name of the stadium is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things, if Launa windows want to put a few quid this is most welcome.

Yep - they can call the stadium whatever they want. As long as it brings in some much needed cash. Everybody will still call it Plainmoor anyway.
Just been speaking to an Arsenal fan here at work who was laughing that some lowly team (us) had sold out - and was pleased that his team hadn't....he really believed that "The Emirates" was the name of the stadium, and had nothing to do with the sponsorship by the company.

Could not give two sh1ts. We need the income and it will always be Plainmoor regardless of what a 'sign' says.
Good for the club to get extra (much needed) revenue into the budget.

So why not the Mike Bateson Stadium..??
Yeah I echo what everyone else has said. Will always be Plainmoor to me, but it all adds to the coffers, and is a good move by the club all in all.

About how much money will the club get for this do you reckon ?
That was the original company and happened over 2 years ago now. They were bought out by another home improvement company and understandably the new company decided to keep the trading name and the majority of staff got their "old" jobs back.Louis wrote:Thought Launa were in administration?
Louis, you might have to change the title of this board now .... to "All things Launa Windows Stadium" ...... nah, I didn't think so.
Good news, in that the club has got more sponsorship money in from a well established Westcountry company, albeit all fans will still refer to it as plain old Plainmoor, in the same way that very other fan of every other club seems to... although some, such as The Emirates I would suggest, seem to have been more accepted than others.
