Lucky buggers

If we had been in 3rd round, we would have drawn burnley away, Exeter , Liverpool at home. It's so depressing.

I don't begrudge Exeter anything now. Well-run club, with a good ethos and a good manager. Fair play to them.

We are now so far down the food-chain it is irrelevant to us - we are on our way to have the likes of Bideford and Tiverton as our derbies. Sooner we forget about ECFC/PAFC the better.

The point is in 2004-5 They beat a team who 2 leagues higher and drew Man.U, we lost to a team a division below and would have had the ultimate prize. As others have said, don't give a damn anymore, we've made our bed, now we lay in it.

Yeah, well run club with a great manager, which is precisely why, despite having been gifted literally millions of pounds over the last dozen years or so, they're still **** about in the middle reaches of L2.

Imagine we'd brought in, say, £5m in free money, as well as getting 3-5000 a week through the gates. Even with our lot running the show, there's absolutely no way we'd be where they are. **** me, they're a division and a half below Burton **** Albion. To top it all off, they've got **** all to show for it in terms of their ground either, it still gets shown up by the likes of Buckland Athletic.

Well run? You're having a laugh.

Matt.

Right, I've got to clear this one up as it annoys me every time someone whinges that we would have been playing Man Utd if we beat Crawley.

No, we wouldn't have. Crawley wouldn't have had the same number as us.

Sorry but I think you're wrong.

For the next round the draw number is the same as the match number as it was drawn. So for example, Watford v. Newcastle was the first match drawn today, and next time whoever wins will be ball number 1.

Yes, absolutely 100% correct oldpendant , we would have had exactly the same ball number if we'd beaten Crawley, so would have drawn Man.U away.

Always pays to check before we shout. :)

Ok, let's destroy your 'thinking' with plain fact.

2nd Round Draw - 9th November 2015
Hartlepool - ball 13
Salford - ball 14
Peterborough - ball 1
Sheffield United - ball 22
Exeter City - ball 27

3rd Round Draw - 7th December 2015
Salford/Hartlepool - ball 62
Peterborough - ball 47
Sheffield United - ball 61
Exeter City - ball 51

Shall I go on?

Each tie is assigned a number alphabetically according to the home team. The winner of each tie keeps the match number for the next draw but when additional teams enter they take the first numbers on an alphabetical basis, with the other teams following on in order of their tie number (eg in the third round Nos1-44 are Premiership and Championship teams, then 45 is the team that carried over No1 from the last round and so on).

This proves my point. Only the top teams were listed alphabetically and were given numbers 1-44. Numbers 45-64 were the match numbers (+44) from the second round. So Bradford (v Chesham - match 1) was number 45 and Oxford (v. Forest Green - match 20) was number 64.
