Nuneaton sack manager

Post by brooker »

They had a fans forum tonight, which was delayed by 15 mins while the club held a meeting with the manager, where they sacked him. Not too surprised after their showing at the weekend, but wish them the best for their season.

There are two things I love doing in football. Relegating other teams and getting managers the sack. Top shithousing, Torquay.

Bit harsh sacking him - were they expecting a win on Saturday?

Got to say, it's a bit harsh getting sacked just because of a defeat by the mighty gulls.

He took over last season apparently when they were doing really well in the top half of the league and promptly got them heading downwards. I doubt its just this seasons results so far which helped them make this decision.

they weren't happy at all in the Away End after the match, & talking about their team being dysfunctional. Think we were the Last Straw.

Their manager, until around 6 months ago, was Kevin Wilkin. He had got them from a reformed club, a few tiers below, to challenging for the play-offs last season in the Conference but then got poached by Wrexham. Nuneaton started sinking as soon as he left and the new bloke never really took off.

Good to see Nuneaton's BOD act so quickly to stem the rot early in the season. Just a shame our BOD did not see the light last season and rid us of that Welsh Druid 'Knill' from the outset.

That's rather harsh, Nelly. It's still early in the season and you've had some good results. Now, if you'd had Alan Connell playing on Saturday instead of shipping him off to Havant & Waterlooville for a pair of shinpads, you'd have ........ still lost 2 - 0. =D
