Forest Green Hippy Owner

Post by TommyGunn »

The most recent accounts show Ecotricity spent almost £5m buying up 490,000 shares in Forest Green Rovers at a cost of £10 each. “The investment was subsequently written down to £nil as the subsidiary continues to be loss making,” stated the 2016 accounts.

The club’s turnover was just over £1m with losses of almost £2.5 million. :red:

how does he get away with it is what I am appalled at. It beggars belief that the League allows this so obvious flagrant breach and abuse of the rules

Just watched FL highlights and pissed myself at the signage above one of the stands behind the goals at Forest Green.

It read, "SUSTAINABILITY IN SPORT"

Jesus. I'm sure you can see the irony.

Not just Forest Green. This is why football clubs are so popular with investors - they are a great way to offset income tax for profit making businesses. Kick out all the clubs in this position and we would probably go to (or get promoted to the Championship by default!)
