When i started going to plainmoor as a 5 year old Andy was thee keeper. I always put it down to him that i became a goalkeeper during my childhood and youth.

I think hes still alive does anyone know what he did after retiring from football.

As far as I know he's still living in South Africa (where did indeed retire from professional football at Cape Town City) at the age of 74

Thanks for reply Merse. Indeed in my mind he was a legend. Replaced by another in Mick Mahoney

As I remember it, it was "Handy Andy" ~ a very decent goalie if a little short and Scottish which always left you to fear the worst but to be fair he dropped very few clangers.

Andy now lives in Hastings having returned from Cape Town many years ago.

We had a meal last week with one of his daughters.
