And now all those who wanted out are truly reaping what they sowed.......

British holidaymakers heading to Europe for this weekend’s big getaway are being offered what may be the worst ever foreign exchange rates at British airports ~ in one case, just 88 euro cents for every pound they hand over. The 88 euro cents offered at Cardiff airport followed a difficult week for the pound on the foreign exchange markets, where sterling fell to its lowest level for eight months to €1.11. Travellers flying out of Gatwick, Luton and Birmingham on Friday were all being offered less than a euro for each pound, unless they had pre-booked their currency......

The exchange at airports has always been worse than your average bureau exchange at M&S or your Post Office. This is nothing more than FAKE NEWS! Yep, we saw a decline in the Pound after Brexit, despite the Pound being highly overvalued after the stagnation of the currency from 2010-2014. We will see the return of the Pound at a better value in years to come, it's just going to cost you more to go on holiday for a few years.

Indeed, I believe M+S are offering 1.06 Euro's to the pound, Sainsbury's bank 1.13 Euro's to the pound, if people are daft enough to exchange their currency at an airport, well enough said. However, yet again, I find myself pointing out, the UK has not left the EU , so all this news, real or fake is still meaningless. After all there are reports suggesting, cloth's and furniture could be a lot cheaper after brexit, some report food could be cheaper also, whilst others report the price of food will go up.

Must have forgotten to mention that during the referendum campaign I suppose. Although, "Vote leave and your holidays will become more expensive" isn't a great sell is it?

Because everyone can predict the stock market, that's why everyone is millionaire's!! If it wasn't for the establishment betting on a staunch victory for Remain, perhaps the stocks wouldn't have had such a shock! For goodness sake, relax, we're still one the richest countries in the world and will only become richer.

There's always a Tory telling the working man why HE has to be worse off than the Establishment.........inflation; the falling value of the pound in his pocket, austerity. Funny isn't it!

I find it laughable that danny goes on about "the establishment", when the most ardent Brexiteers of all: Johnson, Gove, Fox, Davies are the establishment personified.

I'm pleased that we don't have to worry though about the future. I mean, the NHS will be £350 million a week richer by 2019 for a start, right?

Doom and gloom, typical Remain rhetoric. The UK has the 6th largest economy in the world. We will be able to sign trade deals with the USA, Canada, Japan, Brazil, India, China, Australia, etc! There's a huge world out there, including the entire Commonwealth. Look at the bigger picture instead of putting the UK into a European bubble.

The real Brexiteers are those who voted and campaigned for it on the streets of Britain. The (Conservative) Vote Leave campaign used our gross figure of £350 million a week. It couldn't be and could never be a manifesto promise, because neither campaign group was a Political Party standing on certain policies to be elected on. In my opinion, "let's fund our NHS instead" was more of a suggestion of what we can do with the money more than what the Government would actually do. How could people even think that? The Government at the time backed Remain! It's just another excuse for Remain voters to use to criticise the Referendum result.

You're talking bollocks from the other side of the Atlantic divide. It was one hundred per cent Tory politicians telling those lies......Fox, Johnson, Gove, Duncan-Smith & Co

The current state of affairs is as it has been set out; the current state of affairs is that what so many were dumb enough to vote for as regards curtailing immigration; becoming independent from the European Courts and curtailing of the many social and employment stipulations that are in place which will still remain in place long after the mythical 'two years' have elapsed.

With the current lame duck PM presiding over an unprepared and ill-equipped negotiating team and already seeking extra time and a transitional deal lasting ~ well; how long? ~ you ain't getting your Brexit mate!

.....and who the hell wants to be associated with a Fascist like Trump?

You really are scraping the barrel now!

I was questioning your statement of fact that the pound will recover and Brexit will see us become more economically prosperous. You can call that doom and gloom all you like but at some point you will have to start providing evidence to back up your blanket statements.

But it suited you fine for it to be plastered over that bus didn't it. Somehow I don't think leave campaigners were correcting voters on the doorstep and saying "hang on, the NHS won't be getting an extra £350 million a week, sorry". Farage, Banks et al were all quite happy for people to believe that lie.

Meanwhile the effects of the Brexit vote are already been seen in the NHS. The number of nurses coming from the EU has fallen by 96% since last June, and who can blame them with the uncertainty going forward? Why would you come to a country if you're not sure you're going to be allowed to stay after 2019?

We have a chronic shortage of nurses as it is, a clear example of how the Brexit vote is already exacerbating rather than curing the problem.

It's very hard to debate with someone who chooses to ignore your response and proceed with a separate reply of their own. I literally, just said, that the (I'll use your technique) CONSERVATIVE VOTE LEAVE GAVE THE FIGURE OF £350 MILLION A WEEK. It was wrong for them to do that, I didn't support it. In fact, I was the Brexit Leave.EU/Grassroots Out Torbay leader and I ONLY used leaflet material that was provided by the likes of UKIP (you're favourite people I'm sure?) and Arron Banks, etc.

The fact that you're describing the 17.4 million people who voted to Leave (the biggest vote in history) as dumb just highlights your unfortunate position and point of view. Along with your Trump comment, I'm guessing you're a strong Lefty Remoaner who just cannot get over the fact that Brexit happened and so did Trump. The world is changing...let's enjoy the ride and maybe we will find something we can agree on...one day?

Okay, so, a lot here for these two responses. The fact that some of the most prosperous countries in the world have openly told the UK that they wish to sign a free-trade deal after Brexit is enough evidence to suggest that we will be far richer than we have been as a member of the European Union. Food prices will go down, we won't be discriminating the farmers in Africa with the high tariffs consecrated by the Common Agriculture Policy, trade surplus will rise astronomically. There is a YUGE ( :~D ) world out there, it's about time we rejoin it!

Nope, didn't suit me fine at all, actually. The Vote Leave campaign was separate to the Leave.EU/GrassrootsOut campaign headed by Arron Banks and Nigel Farage who openly said (and still do) time and time again that the £350 million a week was wrong and if anything should have had our net figure. I happen to agree with that. This is why I was the Torbay Leave.EU Brexit leader, among other reasons. I was constantly in Torquay town centre with our street stall and many people asked me what the real figure was as they were confused at who was correct. I told them that both Vote Leave and Remain were wrong and informed them of our net figure and what we get in return (can't remember the actual amount...£210 million? Maybe you could help me....?). So we agree on the figure being wrong, don't label me with Vote Leave and their bloody red bus!

The NHS does have a lot of nurses that come from European Union countries, but this idea of needing European foreign labour to ensure that we have a NHS isn't good enough for me. What about the skilled nurses and doctors in the USA, Australia, Canada, India, China? Why do we have an open border with the EU and discriminate against incredibly skilled people in the nations around the world? Countries that speak the same language, have common law. It's madness. Furthermore, we are not training enough of our own nurses who are born here/already live here (migrants included in that). I understand that we could bring university fees into this debate and the ample amount of other problems that the NHS has, but ultimately, our health service will not collapse because of Brexit. To add one more thing, it is the EU who are being stagnant in the citizens' rights situation. The UK Government gave the EU a very attractive and fair deal, but they have chosen to ignore it and making it very difficult for the UK. I would think about the EU's attitude towards the negotiations.

Oh the world is changing with Trump where he is alright; we'll be lucky if it's still here by the end of his term in office if he manages to avoid impeachment before then..........and don't include the intellect with that of the average Yankee Red Neck please!

I am not 'Lefty' I am responsible thinking, socially aware and socialist with care for the community, environment and future of this society who is not looking to get rich quick on the back of destroying this country's very sensible path of integration and mutual co-operation that has been built up since the end of the Second World War which (following on from WW1) was a prime example of the many nations of the continent going their own way into a holocaust of violence and destruction.

So you only used material provided by UKIP and South African raised and privately educated Conservative Party right wing benefactor who switched to UKIP Arron Banks? Says it all doesn't it and people like you are only right wing, extremist Conservatives many of whom have now scuttled back under the Tory sofa. On your website you describe yourself as a 'Conservative Party member'.

UKIP is imploding just as the British Fascists always have; exactly how much representation do they have in Parliament?

Discredited Fascist Oswald Mosley who was a very young Member of Parliament of Parliament for Harrow from 1918 to 1924, first as a Conservative, then an independent, before joining the Labour Party is the perfect example of one of those who change parties at will just as right wing Tories Banks, Farage, Carswell, Hamilton (and others in your scuddy little party) have done in pursuance of their own agendas. Moseley returned to Parliament as Labour MP for Smethwick at a by-election in 1926, and served as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster in the Labour Government of 1929–31. He was considered a potential Labour Prime Minister, but resigned due to disagreement with the Government's unemployment policies. He then formed the New Party. He lost his seat at Smethwick in 1931. The New Party merged with the British Union of Fascists (which included the Blackshirts) in 1932...extreme right wing politicians and their financial backers have form!

"We cannot allow the liberals and the socialists to rule Her Majesty’s nation" ~ sanctimonious twaddle from Danny Harvey; the right wing Tory who infiltrated UKIP in Torbay to further his own ends then (by his own admission) failed to vote for them in the last election
