Advice about Sky TV

Post by AustrianAndyGull »

Obviously being from Yorkshire it goes without saying that i'm completely useless with technology and being 30+ doesn't help either! As i can't find any info on t'internet i thought you lot may know some answers and could help me. Basically i have 2 questions.

1. Can i get Sky Tv from another EU country ( e.g SKY AUSTRIA ) and have it as part of my Sky package?

2. If not, is there any way i can access normal Europen / Austrian TV channels either via satellite or internet so i can watch stuff?

I'd be grateful for any help you guys can give.

Cheers
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

A quick search online shows that all Austrian porn channels are accessible :)

Andy,

I think it is a case of making sure that your dish is facing the correct satellite. Google Austria TV in the UK and you will find numerous links.

You won't be able to have sky Austria as part of your sky UK package, to pick these up it will require a bigger dish and other you can use companies who have their own satellite boxes to get a feed.

Lastly, there are websites out there which allow you to watch worldwide channels, some are legal but your have to search around!

Andy, yes, the ECJ ruled as recently as last October that, in complex overlap between EU law and vitiating terms in domestic contract law, an EU citizen may obtain broadcast services from carriers other than those based in that citizen's country of residence. In short, people in the UK don't have to use UK supplied Sky (or Virgin or whatever), we can use the feed from another EU nation.
Go here >>> http://curia.europa.eu/juris/liste.jsf? ... m=C-403/08" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to be bored to death.

As for getting legally questionable feeds, check your PM (you know, on the off chance...)

Matt.

There seemed to be some kind of bugger up last night, loads of posts disappeared then came back this morning. There was then another bugger up and the same thing happened again.

Glosters really long post has dissappeared, I put quite a bit of time and effort into my post and I`m not very happy about it dissappearing but Gloster`s post was effin` epic in length and would have taken an ages, if was him I`d be livid! Don`t know why I`m posting this as it will probably dissappear!

The most important bit of advice about Sky is missing.

DONT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE, THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICES FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS!
IT'S TOO LATE SKY, WE DON'T WANT ANY OF YOUR POXY OFFERS TO RETURN, YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST REPAIRED OR REPLACED OUR EXISTING BOX WHEN IT DEVELOPED A FAULT INSTEAD OF ASKING US TO PAY £78 FOR THE PRIVELEGE ON TOP OF THE £50+ PER MONTH WE ALREADY PAID YOU FOR 400 CHANNELS OF SHITE, 390 OF WHICH WE NEVER WATCHED!
IT WAS TOO LATE TO OFFER TO DO IT FOR FREE DESPITE YOUR 'CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE' INSISTING WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY, ONCE WE HAD GIVEN YOU NOTICE DESPITE OUR THREATS TO IF WE DIDN'T GET IT DONE FOR FREE WE WOULD LEAVE.
WELL WE HAVE, SO SHOVE YOUR 6 MONTHS OF 'SERVICE' AT HALF PRICE WHERE THE SUN HAS NEVER SHONE! :@

That, Andy my friend, is my advice on Sky to you and everyone else.
'Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with their experience!
