Ex-Gull watch

Post by ferrarilover »

Ok, this is here, hopefully, to be the base for everything Ex-Gull related.

I'll kick us off with Tristan Plummer and his trial with Cheltenham Town. Apparently, he has tweeted that he is not signing for them, having been on trial for a short while. Lucky escape for Chelts, I'd say.

Matt.

What happened to David Woozley?
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Woozley was at Creepy Crawley as a player, then went on to become the joint manager. After he left Crawley in 2007 he went into the fire service and kept playing football at semi-pro level. He went on to play for Farnborough for 2 years but was then released because of work commitments, restricting time to play/train. At this moment in time, he plays for Slough Town after leaving local rivals Windsor & Eton where he captain (according to the Slough Town website).

Cheers for that Danny, i liked David as a player and did wonder what he had gone on to do after footy. Good thread this, i'll have a look through some of my 'old' (circa 2004 anyway!) programmes and see who else i can more info on from you fellow knowledgable chipnickers. Love that word, since i found it out yesterday it's been in my head since. CHIPNICKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Craig Stanley has broken his leg and will, consequently, miss the early part of the season.

Last I heard he had taken up a post in my old school, Ivybridge Community College. Took over from Sean McCarthy.

Cheers Luke. Is that the same Sean McCarthy who used to play oop north in the 90's then moved to the gargs? A bit of a tubby chap but great finisher?

Wayne Carlisle was (don't know if he still is) a coach in the Exeter youth system after he left us, coaching Under 16s (including a friend of mine, which incidently is how I know he did).

I saw him play the other year for Windsor against Truro, he was decent at that level.

I also saw 3 ex Gulls play last year, Matt Hockley skippering Bideford and Danny Wring who was captain of Bridgwater Town. Finally Paul Robinson he who took Shearer's place, got Gullit sacked and had a loan spell at TUFC, playing and being absolutely rubbish for Didcot Town, think he's at Jarrow Roofing now.
