If hair colour is anything to go by, then this is the man that played on Tuesday!

142 appearances 56 goals, ok he is now playing in Finland, But he seems to know the net. Pretty good conversion percentage.

His contract with FC Inter Turku (Finlands Premier League) ends on 31/12/2017, so I expect they are giving him freedom to find another club. To come into our team cold and score two goals in closed doors friendly against Cheltenham has to impress. Good pedigree with early years spent at Marseille and 11 appearance for France U21's.

Contract offered to him plus cash offer for one other unnamed national league forward.

Cash offer ? Call me thick but I assume that's a transfer fee. Shoot me down in flames but when was last transfer fee we paid. Bodin?

Exactly that - it’s all on the BBC now.

Kind of dispels the theory of GI running the club into the ground if they are working on paying fees. Unless the fee is completely derisory and little more than a joke

Torquay's problem now is that because of the minor publicity around signing this player, who clearly has a reasonable track record, is that other clubs with more money and higher up the league are going to want to sign him if only as a reserve striker.

"someone who's scored lots of goals in the last couple of seasons"

Add to that someone who is currently out of favour and realise that it could well be from the regional levels of the National League not necessarily from ur level and I think that could well be the guy from Weston-Super-Mare; Dayle Grubb

Most league goals in 2017 (not inc. PENS; top 6 tiers):
28: Dayle Grubb
27: Kane
24: Doidge
23: Ainge
21: Lukaku, Parkin, Rowe

The issue here is Grubb is not even a striker - plays midfield.

Another possible: Warren Bentley 11 goals in 12 games since joining Poole FC. Ex-Southampton's academy, Bentley played and trained alongside Gareth Bale, Adam Lallana and Theo Walcott. His striking talent at non-league level brought him more goals than Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy combined in 2016, and scored more than 100 goals for Winchester in less than two seasons, and a personal scoring record of 51 league goals in one season for Alresford Town

The one not being named - Is he magic? Does he wear a magic hat and did he knock us out of the FA Cup? Pleased to hear that Owers is adjusting for life post McQuoid. Fingers crossed we get one in for Saturday.
