Oxford fan here.
The French striker was Guy Gnabouyou and you had two players from us play in the behind closed doors game.

Striker James Roberts and midfielder Josh Ashby.

It would appear that a deal was being set up for Roberts to join, however, this morning we have just had a forward player ruled out for a few months with injury, so it seems like that deal is now being blocked. Ashby may join though if BBC Oxford twitter is correct

United will block a loan move that had been considered for James Roberts, though midfielder Josh Ashby may leave on loan. Both played in behind closed doors friendly for Torquay yesterday. #oufc

Add to that someone who is currently out of favour and realise that it could well be from the regional levels of the National League not necessarily from ur level and I think that could well be the guy from Weston-Super-Mare; Dayle Grubb
But then there's Owen Howe and Levi Landricombe at Tiverton .....

Was told by a manager that Tivertons strikers are worth watching they've turned down money for them.

Lets hope the two strikers lined up, sign and do the business. Difficult though it is coming into a struggling
side, you have to say that McQuoid, Myrie Williams and Murphy to a lesser extent have all been a big
disappointment

I think it’s encouraging to see we are trying to get new attacking options in. But not only do we not know the league this potential striker is currently playing in, but we also do not know the amount offered. It could be a derisory offer.

The French trialist is intriguing. Was this a hedges finding? He has a good scoring record, and also played in the Europa league this year. Which would make me think he would be a level above us. It is a little disheartening he has gone back to France, how confident are we that he will return?

Dorel also went back to France to think over our offer. Hopefully the presence of a fellow countryman will help to convince him to sign up.

Don't think he did. He's been in the side since he arrived and the offer was made during that time.

Guy Gnabouyou's agreed to sign and is on his way with international clearance needed before he can play; what's your problem?
