Application for Chairperson of the Torquay United Supporters Trust

Morning All
I am making this posting in my capacity as Treasurer of the Torquay United Supporters Trust (TUST).
As many of you will be aware, Michael Goulbourne sadly had to stand down as Chairman of TUST at the beginning of last month due to ill health and personal reasons. Michael has done an excellent job in directing TUST over the last few years and we are now searching for a new Chairperson to step into his shoes and carry on the great work that he has started. One of Michael’s legacies was the establishment of a small working party who have become the “Trust Board”. As board members, we all undertake different roles in pursuit of the TUST objectives, but none of us are in a position due to work commitments to take on the role as Chairperson. However, we are all committed to TUST and will remain in position (subject to being supported for re-election when the time comes!) in order to assist the new Chairperson whoever he or she may be.
The role is an excellent opportunity for a Torquay United Supporter to step-up and make a difference to our football club. This may not be now, next week, next month or next year, but the very existence of a strong and credible supporter organisation alongside the club and other club structures such as the Torquay United Official Supporters club is important.
Our AGM is to be on 6th December at 7pm in the No 10’s restaurant at Plainmoor. In advance of the AGM (and preferably over the next 2 weeks) we would welcome enquiries from those supporters who would be interest in taking on the role as Chairperson and working with a group of enthusiastic fellow supporters.
