face and raised an arm to push him away after the initial elbow
There was a split second when I thought the ref had actually shown the card to Gowling, and Norwood appeared to take a long time to walk. it was only the reaction of people around me that told me it was not so.

In no particular order.....

Gowling - solid, leader on the pitch
McGinty - solid, no nonsense defender (these two make a great pairing)
Lathrope - unsung hero for me, looks fit and up for it. If he can stay that way, he will be an essential part of our success this season
Chaney - pleasing performance from him, didn't get forward with as much as he could have but that's a touch harsh as it was against a very good Tranmere side
Keating - tireless running, didn't allow the defence or keeper to settle, goals will come
Mmmmmm, beeeeeeeer.

Gowling (A class above most of the others on view, including Tranmere, superb defending and leadership throughout)
Chaney (A great little fighter, never gave in)
Clarke (Solid and dependable)
McGinty (Great defending on the whole, but still prone to poor passing)
Higgins (Tough and competitive, very good signing)

Gowling - solid performance and looks to be a great choice for captain. Shows a very wise and calculated style of play which we have not seen here for a while
Clarke - had a great game, pulling off a few wonder saves. Inspires confidence
Higgins - looks a genuine threat going forward, great pace and what a throw! Bit of a secret weapon eh?
Chaney - not featured in my MOM list for a long time but thought he did a fantastic job out of position.
Mcginty - Mr dependable, solid display, just wish he wouldn't hoof it so much! That'll come I'm sure...
