Would you go and watch Torquay United in the Conference South?

Im all for academies.

Wonder how long we will have to wait for one, a decent one!

In the meantime we have 12 games to save our status in the National bloody league!!!

In would go as often as I do now, which is only a few games (home & away) a season (living in Essex).
People like to see a winning team so if we were near the top of the league I think crowds would be reasonable.

Another (maybe hypothetical) question -

Would you prefer -

Stay in Conference. GI remain and move from Plainmoor.
Relegation, fan ownership & stay at Plainmoor.

We've had fan ownership for the last two regimes ~ it hasn't worked because it has been exclusive to a small group of individuals and hasn't embraced the wider community and in many cases where this is so; life is a constant struggle against financial imposition anyway.......and that is not an anti-trust stance. I am extremely pro trust and those of you who know me should remember that I was one of the original four who introduced the concept to Torquay United several years ago.

Using 'twelve games to go' as justification for relegating a development system in the importance of the job in hand is missing the point that two staff appointments (Geoff Harrop and Dave Hedges) are already working on that and it is more than merely putting a squad of under eighteens together and playing in a youth league. I'd rather like the club to think along the lines of establishing an academy within a community hub for local football and sport which would generate community respect and goodwill both from the wider populace of the town and the grass roots football community.

Yes I would go and I would get a season ticket. Been going for 55 years now, what can I do? Some people get hooked on porn, gambling, booze, scratchcards etc. Me, it's Torquay United. Sad I know.

You are absolutely sure about the that! Nico still has two years on his contract and we all know GI are no here to give their money away buying out contracts their just here waiting for the Council to approve the housing development at Plainmoor.

Sadly I will bow out and restart supporting my local rugby club - even though I have supported United since 1972 and brought up my lad to support them. I couldn't bring myself to support any other football team so that will be me finished with football. Depressed.

I would accept either of these. Unfortunately I think a more likely scenario is - Relegation. GI remain and build on Plainmoor.

The other question that should have been added. What are the exile gulls going to do? A good percentage of away fans that follow Torquay don't live in Torquay. For me and no doubt many others that live in the north west/ north are going to be stumped as to what they do next. It's just a mess.
