The fact is it is absolutely out of our hands and they are in control of the destiny of OUR club, and we will respond accordingly. I'm sure they want to keep the fans on their side right?
That assumes that property developers have a sense of morality that most of us would recognise. They don't.

Dave Phillips on ITV local news. He's lost sleep. You can sleep now Dave, you've got your money back.

Who's going to start organising the Phoenix club then?

In all seriousness, I'd wait and see what happens with this but if the fan-base is this p***ed off with proceedings and the old/new regime then now is the time for action.

As I understand it a Phoenix club would need to have all its ducks in a row and submit and application by around it end of March

Time will tell but I for one rightly or wrongly was fearing administration today. And at this moment in time prefer this option.

I wonder if the people who chastised people for criticizing the (now previous) board will be apologizing?

Phillips and his cohorts have sold this club down the river for the sake of £30k. Stupid decision after stupid decision with the final straw being dirt cheap season tickets to create cash until this point to give themselves the maximum chance of recouping their money. They are a disgrace and now the vultures will circle.

Unlike Bateson who bought the club back having sold it to the wrong person these people have nothing to make a recovery with, as I said before and was criticized for, they have no business acumen and should never have been in charge of the club and their tenure and inability to accept they made a duff investment (because they didn't know how to manage it) is the death nail in this club's coffin.

TUFC will not be in existence in its current form by the turn of the decade, that Mr Phillips I am willing to stick a lot of money on! As for calling me or anyone else a Keyboard Wanker it is a damn site lot better than what I currently call you and your cohorts

What a mess! We have all known for the past year that it was necessary to remove the malignant tumour that has built up in Club, yet it appears it would have been easier to wipe out football corruption in the Congo than sell a Conference club for the price of a semi-detached. How this fiasco has been possible is beyond comprehension, it is rotten to the core. Phillips states "They've put a significant amount of money in already and are ready to put in a lot more as well," . Yes they will --- for housing development. I am sure the 'silent majority' of TU supporter old and new will raise their voices to the Council when it becomes clear that the club has been sold for 'chocolates and candies' to dismantle the club and all it's history . Some seem to have given up the ghost, but wait up, we may have lost a battle but the war is not over. Loyal fans and the supportive residents of Torquay and its surrounding area must regroup, the fight to keep our club alive must go on! I for one will not trust GI no matter what propaganda they throw at us.

I am Torquay till I die!

Keep the Faith !

A Phoenix club is an absolute non starter whilst TUFC still exists. There simply is not enough room for two clubs in Torquay with support being divided between the two of them. And where would they play?

Dear, Oh dear, Oh dear, what have we become.

I suppose a GI/Riviera consortium managed club is better than no club at all. :'(

Come on you yellows! :scarf:
Life is like TUFC. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. :goal:

Evening all,

Today is a sad day for our football club.
I have heard that they plan to build a racecourse over the Plainmoor to accommodate Greyhound racing.
We can say good bye to our great club as we know it and know the finishing line is near.

Let's hope for a good performance tomorrow, I will be travelling there.

I feel a lot more positive about GI than Phillips et al. Hopefully, once the new owners have introduced themselves and their plans, some fans will be less worried.

My short term hope is that they put together a team of staff that run the club more professionally, create a unifying and rewarding supporters club and invest in Kevin Nicholson and the team.

Hello there Totnes_Gull, Graham here. I've heard this too from one of my close friends who lives up in Swindon as hes visited a few of the greyhound tracks in the area, and as far as I know too there's been mumblings of this talk up in Swindon as afterall they're a leisure group who specialise in commercial ventures and they see a market for this in the bay as there's not a greyhound track so they see this as a good opportunity to seize upon.

Yes Graham, this is a very plausible option as they have invested into many Greyhound tracks in Swindon and other leisure facilities. They feel that they can expand on this down here in Devon.
