New kits

Post by Richinns »

Nicholson has confirmed on Facebook that the new home kit will remain yellow and the away kit will be black and white stripes to reflect our original colours from when the club was formed.

It seems like the away kit will be released first and worn throughout preseason.

I wonder if the club can release artist impressions of them and start taking reserved orders for these in order to gain as much capital from them as possible?

Didn't we have a competition to design the new kit? Did we ever see the results?

Some may question why neither the home or away kit have been announced.

But to be fair to Joma / Torquay United, it's only been 24 months since the last kit were released.

Glad to hear we're going back to black/white stripes, wish we always used them for our away kit, it's a historical choice for us and always looks good. Of course it'd never happen because clubs need to change their kits every 2/3 season to take in the money and people aren't going to buy different variations on black/white every 2 years.

Tell that to Newcastle United and/or Juve supporters.

Really like the idea of the black and white stripes. Hopefully, thin stripes with black shorts as in the 1933/4 kit

Just noticed a few mentions of black and white stripes being the original away kit and it made me wonder whether I am recalling incorrectly that we used a royal blue away kit in the late 60's or early 70's.

The club has been around a bit longer than 50 years! They are talking about the proper old kit when we were for a short time know as the Magpies.

I also seem to remember we played in all royal/dark blue around that time. Not sure whether at home or away though. Maybe both unless there was a colour clash.

PS welcome to the forum, Mini Stand
