Useful Links / Away Travel / Player of Season / Attendances

Post by Louis » 16 Apr 2016, 23:56

With the loss of our main site (to simplify the site) I have decided to make use of a sticky topic to keep all links and info in one place for fans. If you feel anything is missing please drop me a PM.

Useful Links Away Travel
Departures from
  • Paignton, Railway Station
  • Torquay, Coach Station
  • Newton Abbot, Penn Inn
  • Exeter, M5 Services
If you would like to book yourself onto the supporters coach for an away game, call Mark on 07787716089 or Graham on 07720969607. The Travel Club really needs the support from the Torquay traveling fans, if you are thinking about going to an away game, then please put the Travel Club into consideration. It will provide a comfortable, relaxation and fun atmosphere on the way there and on the way back.

Coach departure times may vary from game to game and will be detailed on the forum in a topic, TorquayFans.com has no connection to this service but support and promote it as much as we can, make some noise Torquay Fans.

With thanks to Gulliball for running:
TorquayFans Player of the Season

Man of the Match is a feature that has been running on TorquayFans.com since the beginning of the 2010/11 season. After each league game, a thread is created for fans who attended the match to vote for their top five performers in order. After each game the results are added up with the winning player declared the Man of the Match. However all nominated players receive points, weighted in order of how highly the fans rated them.

The idea is that each game counts for 1/46th of the final total, therefore every game counts equally. The Tuesday night away at Accrington when we lose 5-0 was a potential three points in the same way that a home victory over Plymouth is worth three points, but one will always be remembered better than the other when reflecting back on the season. Likewise, performances towards the end of the season are more highly valued in the traditional player of the year voting format. With this format, every game is scored on an individual basis, and is then added together to give the final total, which over the full season should remove as much bias as possible and hopefully give an accurate measure.

Full 2014/15 Results - Winner Luke Young
