Player of the Month!

Post by Sneapy »

the player of the month for january was guy branston!

very well done to him he did deserve it, he is a really good playerr and is one of my favorite players,
but what made me laugh was this.....
.... and once again impressed with his calm leadership from the back.
he isnt calm, hes always yelling at people, getting yellow cards!
lol but im not critising branston but the article just made me laugh,

once again welldone to branston he did deserve it!

Actually, I'm not sure he did for January. Overall he's well ahead this season, and is huge favourite for Player of the Year, but for the five league games we played in January (Hereford, Oxford, Crewe, Morecambe and Gillingham), in each of the individual games he came 2nd, 4th, 5th and failed to score twice.

O'Kane was the run-away leader for January - with performances of 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd and =6th (plus the winner in the cup vs Carlisle).

In full, according to the fans at the games, the players of the month for January were (with the POTY points I've equated their votes to):

1. O'Kane - 25
2. Benyon - 18
3. Mansell - 16
4. Branston - 10
=5. Zebroski - 9
=5. Wroe - 9
7. Bevan - 7
=8. Nicholson - 6
=8. Kee - 6
10. Ellis - 5
=11. Stevens - 4
=11. Robertson - 4
13. Lathrope - 1

I know I'm probably far too obsessed with stats, but for my money O'Kane was the clear winner for January.

Branston is still well ahead of Zebroski/Mansell for Player of the Season though.

I'd have to agree with Gulliball here, although not so much in the last 2 games O'kane has been excellent!

Really, I don't think it's been branstons best month- the mix up at Crawley comes to mind!

I'll have you know, at my high school graduation, I was voted 'most liklely to be a plank on a pirate ship'. Along with, 'most likely to be committed to an insane asylum' and 'most likely to be played by Dr Hannibal Lecter in an autobiographical film.'

Matt.

N.B. Interestingly, the award for 'most likely to kick Rickinns in the shin for being a cheeky git' was won by somebody else.

Honestly Sneap, you do so well to make a pirate based joke but let yourself down so badly by putting 'lol' at the beginning of your post. It's not compulsory. There is nothing enacted in statute which says that all people aged between 12 and 19 must Laugh Out Loud at any comment/text message/MyFace post/news article/blog entry/roadsign/numberplate etc on pain of death for failing to comply. Just bloody stop it!
