Season Tickets for next season

Post by MidDevon »

Many of you may have read the club statement on season ticket prices for next season. A similar statement was posted on the club's facebook page and after several far from happy fans posted their disgust at both the decision the board have made, and also it's timing, it appears the statement has been removed from the Facebook page.

It really does appear the club have lost touch with the reality of the feelings amongst the supporters. The sad thing is that I know the supporters general feelings will make no impact on the board's decision.

Hartlepool appear to be the masters of this with several schemes over the past 5 years, arguing that it is better for the club and players to play in a 3/4's full stadium than a 1/4 full stadium and thus they got nationwide coverage, and I seem to remember 5,000 season tickets in the year they ran a sliding scale where the price depended on the number of tickets sold.

Torquay United have some known values with this. i.e they simply know who much revenue they took from season tickets this season and also for normal match tickets for home areas of the ground. So surely a quick bit of work on a spreadsheet could quickly come up with a similar plan for 2014/15. With a capacity of around 7,000, the last thing surely anyone wants to see if 5,500 empty spaces a game.

For the record, Bury have just announced season tickets for a maximum of £250 next season
