Manager of the Month

Post by happytorq »

Was there one in August? I'd really like to blame the Manager of the Month 'curse' for getting us beaten on saturday, but I can't seem to find it anyway. Maybe there isn't one?

Ah, thanks Jane.

It'll be a travesty if Buckle doesn't get it; this is supposed to be August award, not the "august and a bit of september" award..

Don't really want him to win it. It's a slippery slope once that award has been made.

And Mark Ellis is up for the L2 player of the month. If they both win, we'll be doubly cursed. We'll be leaking goals and having players walking out.

well i think if you look at shrewsbury's record for august, unbeaten in the league, knocked charlton out of the league cup, then narrowly losing to stoke in round 2,also they knocked oldham out of the jpt, maybe there manager deserve's it,as there record for august is better than ours.

however still delighted with our start, and hopefully back to winning ways saturday.

oh and joe,if bucks does not win it,leave your dads bubbly alone :)

i don't know what you're worried about...the demands of the curse have already been met. On saturday, the first league game after the award should have been presented. We lost, we let in 2 goals in the first half.

The curse cannot affect us now! *evil laugh*

He simple HAS TO win it...we've had a hard start(or what we thought would be) and won every game conceding 1. There is no chance he won't win it surely!?

Adam le fondre will probably get POM

It's a League award, and therefore cup results shouldn't come it.

Therefore, give it to Buckle :)

Yep, absolutely. Well done Bucks, it would have made a mockery of the awards if it had gone to anyone else really. It does mean, however that at least until Saturday, I shall be saluting magpies, not passing people on the stairs and not running over any black cats in an attempt to lift the curse...

btw, our chairman looks very dapper in the photo, and I never for a moment recognised Ray Reardon - does he support the Club or just filled in as a local celeb for the photoshoot?

I believe he does support the club Jane. I know he lives locally, and his been a few times, to my knowledge. :)

He (Ray) does seem to smile a lot, which is a bit scary given his Dracula nickname.
