When was your first Torquay game?

My first game was Torquay v Barnsley in 1979. We won 3-2 and Les Lawrence scored a hat-trick.

Wish I Knew! Perhaps somebody could help.

I know that it was about three games before we played Aston Villa in the old third division. I must have been about 6 so it would have been in the sixtees or early seventees.

First game was Torquay V macclesfield- 17th march 2001 when I was in primary school.

I think Torquay won 2-0 but I don't know who scored.

I looked back at the match programme today and hardly recognised any of the team!

My family moved to into the area in 1980,our nieghbours were tufc fans,and i went with them to the last home game of the 79-80 season was 11 then.

score was 2.5 to lincoln,no chance of remembering who scored.

My first game was 25 March 2000 - against Plymouth.

We lost 4-0.

Second game was 24 April 2000 against Maccy.

We won 3-2 with a Willo last minute goal.

Torquay vs Hereford, penultimate game of the 92-93 season (24th April Soccerbase tells me). Ended 0-0, was an awfully boring game. Was in the Football in the Community stand with the rest of Oldway Primary School Football team - not because I was good enough to get in the team, but because I always wore a gulls shirt (Mod-dec windows, yellow and white stripes!) to training! Despite the low quality, it was hooked and managed to convince my dad to take me to the last home game of the season against Gillingham, which I believe we won with a last minute Adrian Foster goal. Would love some more of that on Saturday!

Northampton defender Terry Angus apologised to a female supporter stood near me after telling the linesman to (something) off! This was right in front of us, and I was about 6 years old Apart from that don't really remember much. We were in yellow and white stripes and it was the season Neil Warnock stepped in to save us.

Hereford v Torquay in 1994 or '95 when I was 9 or 10. I pestered my dad for ages to let me go, he always took my brother but never me because girls weren't allowed I think it was a draw, it always was. I remembered vaguely some fans chanting about the fire at Edgar Street.

On the 13th April, 1963, I went to Plainmoor for the first time. We beat Chester 1-0 with a goal from Peter Anderson. The attendance was 4000+.

2001/2002 or something like that. Vs York at home, we lost 3-0, great start to watching Torquay..

My first Torquay game was in 1978 home v Halifax Town it was an evening game it was great seeing a football game under floodlights much better than seeing highlights on the telly .
Torquays Goals were scored by Ian Twitchin and Willie Brown.
Dont remember how the scoring went all i remember is Terry Lee the Torquay keeper fumbling a free kick and a Halifax player in Green and Yellow Strips putting the rebound in.

Odd!! This is the game we played at Plainmoor v Maccy in 2001, and we won 2-0. Maybe Soccerbase is wrong?
