Southampton if you read my report on the previous page Ryan Higgins was one of the stand out signings.

He is everything you would hope for in an attacking full back who gets forward and contributes when we are attacking. Brilliant signing.

Very soundly - looks to have good sense of positioning and turn of speed.

Good performance and enjoyable game. I did wonder what whats happening when i saw Sam Chaney line up at LB. Is it me or has Sam filled out a bit?? Anyway City came down with the intent of playing football out from the back. Within the first 5 min or so we conceded a corner and straight away we looked organised and assured at the back. I was impressed with all the new signings and i left with a renewed optimism for the season ahead. Our keeper and defense looked strong and organised and our RB looked impressive going forward especially in the second half.
Looks to me like Lathrope is back to full fitness. Luke Young was still strong at the end so he looks like hes not far off too. Lets hope Pittman is ok, didnt realise just how good he is in the air.

Our new signings:
Ryan Clarke. A Man Mountain. Did not have a lot to do.Looks good.
Ryan Higgins. Excellent debut. Quick, alert, great going forward. Superb anticipation in 15th minute to take a pass and cross with precision.
Josh Gowling.Played alongside McGinty looks a key player.
Yan Klukowski. Very tall commanding player gives height and physical strength to the team.
Jake Gosling. My MOTM. A real playmaker and a brilliant signing.
Jon Paul Pittman. Very good first half until nasty head injury just before half time.Another good signing.
Absolutely top signings by Nicho with no exceptions.
On Trial:
James Gray. Scored both goals the first a penalty. Experienced.
Yemi Odubade. Nearly scored near the end. I have seen him play at Plainmoor for several teams and he seems to score a few every season.
Possible signing plenty of experience at this level.
Well done to Sam Chaney at left back. Did well tonight.
I think we have the makings of a decent side if we could sign a striker as good as Kieffer Moore.
:goodpost:

Very good post, couldn't agree more. Higgins my MOTM, look good throughout, both in defence and attack, and was visibly guiding the younger players who came on in the second as well, which bodes well. Gowling and McGinty look good together. Plenty of positives to take forward to Tranmere on 5 Aug.

I really enjoyed being at the game last night.

There's a different, more professional feel about the place. New kit is lovely and I bought one of course!

Very encouraging performance. All of the new lads looked like they knew what they were doing. Gowling and Gosling looked great. Come on boys, lets have our first positive season in too long!
