Torquay v Gateshead 28/01/17

Post by lucy6lucy »

This is the 3rd year I travel down for this fixture. Accompanied by an Oldham fan and Gateshead fan. Previously they have been 2-2 and 0-2 last year, let's hope it's 3rd time lucky. Gateshead are very unpredictable despite being just outside the playoffs. But with our own form being dire, even the most optimistic will find it hard to see us win this one. A few new signings prior to the match would help, but unlikely to happen. I predict 2-1 Gateshead

Only light rain forecast for Friday so no issues with this being postponed.

Agreed, though I have a few niggling doubts about LRT and Richards. Here's hoping they rise to the challenge and have a good day. If they do, we'll have a well-deserved win, and the start of a good run. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

You'd leave out Verma ?? He's been about our most consistent player this season. He will be in the starting 11 on Saturday, you wait and see. And quite right too !

The team I would select would be :
Moore
Verma - Racine - McGinty - Hodgkiss
Fitzpatrick - Young ( Capt ) Richards - Sparkes
Harrad - Williams

Time for a change of Captain as I believe Young would do a good job and be more vocal as a Captain is supposed to be.

I agree but I'm not sure I see Nicho dropping Richards Vermas versatility could see him on the bench

I would start with 5 in midfield and stay solid the first half see how it goes we need points so keep it tight and get confidence.
Could always try Williams on his own up front.

Well, its 20 weeks since Torquay won on a saturday, (10th Sept v York)
Surely we are due a happy saturday evening or is it asking too much ? At least Bowman wont score
Lets have 100% and a performance full of fight, passion and will to win from every single player not just Luke Young
Thats all I ask. Have not seen it too many times this season
