Wrexham 1st leg

Post by Chris De Burger »

Wrexham fan in peace

I don't know how many of you are planning to travel Saturday but if you are interested the manager of the Maesgwyn hall has asked me to inform you that he will have a separate bar available for you should you wish to use it. There is matchday parking available including room for coaches.

For those of you whom have been to Wrexham before its the place next to the Shell Garage across the road from the ground.

Oh also on matchdays it home to the famous Chris De Burger burger van

Wrexham must be a classy place then, especially compared to Mythyr Tydfil which is built next to a Murco garage.

So it looks as if this is going to be the official Torquay Fans FA Trophy semi-final first leg match-day thread. Started, perhaps appropriately, by a Wrexham fan. Is this a sad reflection upon the degree of apathy among our supporters or simply the time of year when many of us are hibernating?

I'd like to think we're not really apathetic. I certainly have a feeling (I don't know why) that the next two home games, against Lincoln on Tuesday, and the return leg against Wrexham on Saturday, are going to be good exciting games with decent attendances.

Actually I wish I was hibernating; it's 4:45 in the morning and I can't sleep, though I'm still bloody tired. If I do eventually drop off, I just hope I can wake up in time to listen to the commentary.

Anyway, here are some useful and relevant links:

Let's judge the 'apathy' on how many of our fans make the 10 hour round trip today. I was at Hemel and couldn't believe how many we took for an essentially tin pot competition at a tin pot club.

Its times like these that judge who the real fans are. Who has TUFC in their hearts rather than in their heads.

Think today will be a 1-1 draw, and we will nick it 1-0 at Plainmoor.

I'm not going today as money is tight this time of year and I'm coming down for the home leg. I intend on tuning in to the match, I'm sure previous rounds of the trophy have appeared on this list: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/13629210 but there isn't a link there..yet. Have asked on twitter so if I get a link will post it here.

Will be very interesting to see what will happen with the loan signings, and also whether Oli starts at the back. Don't think away goals count in this competition but Bowman has been in good form recently and the new boys will be eager to please. Defence has coped well recently, I agree with what CH says on BBC Sport, Angus has the potential to be a good captain for us one day, he's comfortable at this level and I hope he strikes up a decent partnership with Oli as Downsey appears to be on too much £££ for us at this level.

I've got a feeling that today will play out well and we'll return to Plainmoor next weekend all equal at 2-2. Bowman and Campbell (off the bench) COYY!

Don't think that link will work, it's dated 29th January.

I'd rather listen to Radio Devon, but if not then we can listen to this:
Live Sports FM :
Our live match commentary today is the FA Trophy Semi Final tie between Wrexham & Torquay United with Bernard Chyzy & Paul Durn from 2.30pm. You can post comments on our Facebook page on Live Sports FM, tweet us @LiveSportsFM or post your comment on the chat section below (followed by < to post).

This link has just gone live and works

That link is airing FGR vs Telford. Gulls Player is useless. The Wrexham link is offline. Through BBC Radio Devon website I get Plymouth game.

Good grief.
