Re: ANTHEM
Heard this again last night, really great song and with just one word changed would be ideal for us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX6HIALBQ-0&feature=feedf We'll be coming... We'll be coming... We'll be coming down the road... When you hear the noise of the Yellow Army Boys, We'll be coming do...

Re: Building from the back
Nobody is settled, let alone a footballer. If someone doesn't have a contract (ie a job) then they have no money coming in. A footballer isn't going to stay in Newcastle for very long if his only (or best) offer comes from Torquay. I moved over 600 miles away last year, which without coming from Cor...

Please Jean-Pierre Simb. Also Neville Southall and Wayne Thomas.
I would up Rodney Jack's pace by a fair bit too.

Re: Stevens off....NOT CONFIRMED
Well if we agreed a deal then why are we still negotiating with him? I can't imagine we're trying to get him to take less than we agreed a month or two back, so perhaps he's had another offer and wants a better deal from us to stay.

Re: Stevens off....NOT CONFIRMED
Didn't we agree a deal with Oastler a few months ago? I'm almost positive it was on the official site a few months back (although I can't find it now).

Re: Season tickets
It can't hurt. Maybe now people have seen that Plymouth, Swindon, Oxford and a few other games will be played with a 4000 capacity, a season ticket and guarenteed entry to those games looks a better buy than a week ago.

Re: whos gonna be his first signing?
Are Palmer, Yeoman and Spear ready/good enough for first team football? Apart from Yeoman's brief 30 mins against Oxford about 3 years ago now, they don't have any first team experience at all. Also, I thought Palmer and Yeoman had 6 months deals that are running out now? The squad's looking very th...

Re: Stevens off....NOT CONFIRMED
Also quite important to consider that he's 24 now. At 20 there was a lot of room for growth (no jokes please), but at his age it's very unlikely that he's going to suddenly raise qualities of his game. Personally, I don't think he'll ever be a regular starter here and wouldn't be sorry to see him mo...

Re: First game of the Season
They'll sell out any time of year. On the opening day any big side that don't quite sell out but bring a big following would be perfect.

Re: First game of the Season
Hopefully a home game, as crowds are always bigger on the opening day. A big side who'll bring extra fans but have an awful team would be ideal.

Re: Over-achievement
We had a brilliant side last season - 7th was a fair reflection of their ability, not over-achievement really. In terms of budget and reputation, certainly, but we finished in the play-offs on merit with a solid defence and dangerous attacking players.

Re: Martin Ling
Ling is probably somewhere in the middle of who we could have appointed. Not the most popular, the most experienced or most anything, but as pointed out above, ticks all the boxes of who we were looking for, and presumably is cheaper than a few of the other contenders after his experiences at Cambri...
