Gary Johnson, Red card ?

DB57 I think you overlook that Cooper had Linton and Fisher on the bench so he had good options. Johnson had Andrews and he is way off fitness and the more I see of him the less he looks like a Full Time Professional Footballer. You can only bring on what you have and Yeovil had what we lacked. And...

Gary Johnson, Red card ?

I was at the Match. Moments before Crowe got a second yellow for an innocuous foul Jarvis was blatantly fouled by Staunton, who had already been booked, and deserved a second yellow which he did not get. Durkin is so inconsistent no wonder Gary saw Red!!!! Staunton got away with it because he was t...

Gary Johnson, Red card ?

DevonBee wrote: 28 Dec 2022, 11:08 Think the context of the red card comment was that Osbourne should have given Johnson the red card months ago. :red:
Exactly that

Without a comparison these stats are pretty meaningless aren’t they?

Torquay United v Yeovil Town - 26th December 2022

I agree that Moxey and ellis lack pace but their reading of the game cannot be under estimated, it seems that johnson would gladly send on the physio before Omar and marshall is just a loose cannon ,neither of which are NL standard, you cannot reasonably expect de silva and wearne to run backwards ...

Neville Southall

I've just watched a YouTube video with Nigel Farage talking pints with Neville Southall. Southall must be at least 22 stone and it's such a shame that the once best keeper in the world has let himself go . It reminds me of Gazza . He was very good but I’m not sure he was ever the ‘best keeper in th...

Mark Ellis! (Permanently??)

North Curry House wrote: 02 Dec 2022, 15:53 Mark would be a big part of our attempt to get clear of the bottom four. His wife/partner may be a stumbling block but if she's can be persuaded to come South that would be great.
Why? How have we improved since he’s been here ?

FA Trophy Tickets v Chippenham. 17/12/22

Why is it a "fracking joke"? It costs money to open up different parts of the ground on a match day. From past experience we know there are very low crowds for the early rounds of the Trophy. Surely we should be thankful the club is using economic sense instead of wasting money. And from ...

Gary Johnson, stick or twist?

:goodpost: Alternatively look at the attendances of Woking, Barnet and Solihull. Those are compariable or worse than Torquay's and yet those clubs occupy the play off places. GJ has **** up, like he eventually did at every other club he has managed. That said I don't think the club will sack him bec...

Gary Johnson, stick or twist?

toastkid wrote: 20 Nov 2022, 15:52 Too many fans still think we are a league two team. The reality is, and consider attendances here, we are a middle national league side. This season is a disappointment, but I'm confident that things will change.
They’ll change when we are in National League South and go part time.

Barnet v Torquay : Saturday 19th November 2022 3.00

Just watched the Highlights and we looked like the Home Team in the second half. We bombarded their box but the chances were just not put away. Plenty to encourage and for those at the Hive who have posted it sounds like a much improved performance against a Top Half team but nothing to show for it...

Will we stay up?

The squad depth is what worries me. There’s also the issue of getting all of our loanees on at the same time, especially now Evans is back. If we can sign Ellis permanently I think we will stay up. I doubt we’ll have Wearne all season, the same with Goodwin. I’m still struggling to work out where E...
