Exeter playoff

merse btpir wrote: 24 May 2017, 12:45...... a club that habitually punches hard is easier to market than one which regularly struggles, whatever the League.
Fixed that for you.. :~D

Seriously though, I'm sure you're right. Any team doing well in a lower league will be easier to market than one doing badly in the league above.

Assaults on our Freedoms

The attitudes of bomber Abedi's neighbours, the local Muslim area, local politicians, the local police chief, and social media users: unbelievable ! http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/05/23/manchester-suicide-bomber-salman-abedi-son-libyan-immigrants-chanted-arabic-prayers-street/ http://www.breit...

Expectations for next season

I disagree with a lot of what Merse says but we all see things differently and I'm ok with that. It's funny how words on a screen can cause so many bad feelings but the same words spoken over a beer wouldn't be taken the same way. Me too. I nearly always have a beer in front of me when I'm typing i...

Sir Roger Moore, R.I.P.

Just found it on Amazon:' For All the Tea in China' by Stephen Sheppard, a great sea adventure story.

Not to be confused with the somewhat inferior (in my opinion) novel with the same title by Kyril Bonfiglioli (soon to be a film starring Johnny Depp).

Sir Roger Moore, R.I.P.

Died today at the age of 89, a man from humble beginnings who made good. He'll best be remembered, I suppose, as will Sean Connery, for his James Bond performances. Not the greatest actor in the world, for sure, he never had the appropriate roles to demonstrate his talents, but all he needed to do w...

I was fishing with a friend the other day and he said he was thinking of divorcing his wife 'because she hadn't talked to him for three months'. I said 'why would you get rid of a woman who possesses those qualities'..

You make good points, 78, though I would not wish to tar everyone with the same brush. I make a comparison with the bombing campaign of the IRA, whom Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbot have notably refused to condemn (e.g.: http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/05/21/corbyn-fails-six-times-to-condemn-ira-...

The Manchester terrorist bombing: Security provision, it has already been claimed, was inadequate here, although whatever the level of security, it's always a possibility for determined terrorists to achieve their aims. So the security services must increase their level of surveillance. Doubts have ...

The Play Offs

No, sorry, but the play-offs are still not fair. Promotion should depend on a team's performance over the whole season, not on a handful of knockout games at the season's end. If you want to maintain the interest of all clubs right up to the last day, abolish play-offs and have a system of eight up ...

Here's another K'wanker (as the spokesman for the Official Supporters Club calls us) making good, pro-active and constructive comment and someone immediately coming back all negative putting 'lack of toilets' up as an excuse...... If you're referring to my post, either you're taking it the wrong wa...

I like your suggestions. But my thoughts were that, logically, the more food that is eaten and certainly the more booze that's drunk, then the more toilets will be needed for a few hours afterwards. And if players are going to bring their babies and toddlers to matches, then a crèche will be needed,...
