Torquay v Chester. 2/9/17 Match day thread

I don't think casual fans exist like that anymore. Gone are the days when the likes of Tranmere played their home games on a Friday night so they could get all the Liverpool and Everton fans turning up.

Management options

All this talk of Sol Campbell and Kevin Davis seems nonsensical. Why? Because, this is TUFC with Clarke Osbourne and Geoff Harrop in charge. We are in one of the worst locations in the country, bottom of the National League with a small budget. We are a poison chalice, why on earth would any "big n...

Management options

Now that I know Micky Adams is not in the hat - I have to say I would be pleased to see Richard Money at the helm. Even if the ex-premier player is high calibre I believe that it is proven managerial experience that we need right now. Taking a gamble on a former premier league player could swing ei...

He certainly seems to have the right attitude, I hope he has the skills to match!

Are GI Investing?

I've avoided this place for most of the summer, it's just too damn depressing! Over the summer we seem to have signed quite a few names that all Conference fans and a lot of League fans will recognise, a lot of them I imagine earning more than any new signing over the last few years. The fact that a...

Harrop - you coward

I sense I've missed something... Trying to keep a positive outlook on life I've steered clear of this place for a few days! Besides just being himself what has Harrop done now?

FAT Harrop Threats

I'm not sure that calling Geoff Harrop 'fatty' or whatever is the way to go at the moment. Insults never achieve anything in my book. Don't know the guy, only remember him being in charge of one match several years ago. Let's pass judgement in 6 months' time. Do that and we'll be judging Harrop as ...

New Players/Loan

Both Maidstone & Woking have brought in 21 year old strikers from league sides. One of the players is from Bristol Rvrs so if he is any good, you would have thought Lee Mansell would have tipped Nicho. I suspect Dave's reading of what's happening at Plainmoor is near the truth. If correct, the play...

The New Board

Well we're talking about the chairmanship of the FOOTBALL CLUB here for which no shares are necessary; shares are held in the company and as Gaming International have by far the majority shareholding, any shares Dave Phillips might or might not now hold are irrelevant. The Football Association stip...

Dave Phillips has resigned but they've not released that information for some reason
Does he still have shares though? Do we know what/whose shares Osborne bought?

Torquay V Tranmere

The late winner on Saturday has given me a smidgen of confidence that there might just be an incy wincy little bit of fight left in the squad. I'm going for another 2-1 win.

I think in that interview the interviewer addressed Osborne as Chairman.
According to Companies House Osborne and Philips are the only two 'Officers'.

Danny Racchi was so good on the radio. Talks so much sense.
So did Hargreaves. And Gary Neville. And a LOT of others. Talking about football and actually managing a team are two very different things. If not we would all be earning millions in Premier League dugouts!!
