Torquay United v Chelmsford City - PP 2/4/19

As someone who was sat right behind the goal .... I can confirm that the keeper got a left hand to the ball and pushed it onto the post. It was a very good save, to be fair.

East Thurrock v Torquay United PP to 26.2.19

That has been the most painful listen to a TUFC commentary I can remember in a long time! Thank goodness we ground out the win as with Truro winning that would have been quite a setback to our title chances, and who knows how important that late winner from Keating might prove to be at the end of th...

East Thurrock v Torquay United PP to 26.2.19

Think that first half really highlights the lack of strength in depth we have got. Clearly JSW was having a nightmare at centre half and was rightly hauled off but having to switch Asa Hall back there means we have now lost our most combative midfielder and when you look at the “options” on the benc...

woking

Have to say full credit to Dowson and Woking, they have made excellent use of the loan system and in Tarpey and Allassani they have made two excellent signings who are not only proven at this level but are also proven goal scorers ~ and a cut above this level for sure.

Ben Gerring HATES Torquay!

Sorry, but given the events of today, I thought this deserved its own thread.

Welling Utd v TUFC 16th February 2019

Ben Gerring spreading his love for TUFC at the Woking game today. Why does he do that?? Really poor from Gerring ... and to think it was us that gave him his chance at National League level! Fair enough, he’s clearly “made his bed and can now lie in it” as the saying goes .... his actions will cert...

Brazilian winger trials for Torquay

If you are given a trial by Johnson it normally means you have got some potential. No doubt it was our Head of Recruitment, Gary's brother Peter who pointed him in this direction. UKFT are the same outfit where Peter found Kalvin Lumbombo-Kalala. Whether during the trial with us, [highlight=yellow]...

Truro City end groundshare

Good news although this leaves it open for them to carry on using Plainmoor if they feel like it. There is no definitive 'end' announced in the article. Surely the league will not allow them to pick and choose as they see fit (and with likely pressure from us to rest the pitch)? Highly doubt the Na...

It can do! I think he did come back (probably too soon) but had a reoccurrence of the strain. He did indeed come back, against Basingstoke in the FA Tropy - only to suffer a reoccurrence of the injury. Last I heard, he should be back fit and available soon - although given we have a two week break ...

A "week or two away" according to Dave Thomas on today's HE podcast - and not under consideration for this weekend's game. Which has presumably come direct from GJs Thursday morning press conference!

Not surprised given his lack of game time, but a little concerned due to our lack of numbers over the busy Xmas period? Makes me wonder whether GJ will be bringing someone in to fill the gap? Given that Keating is out (suspended) for 3 games, Edwards (thigh) is still out injured for a week or two, a...

The lowest of the low

Owers last game - a 1-0 home defeat to Chippenham has to be right up there surely. Amazing to see the turnaround since then under Gary Johnson. But after that particular game, it felt like we might even struggle to stay in this League rather than actually try and get promoted out of it. It also came...
