FA Cup

It's a home tie....Gary Johnson has that Paul Buckle-esque quality …..winnable games in the FA Cup at home.
Don't think Woking will relish coming back to Plainmoor so quickly.

Finding The Dressing Room

Could the answer to TUFC's recent poor performances be easily solved with a little behind the scenes tweaking and re-deployment? There has been much speculation recently that Gary Owers has lost the dressing room. If, indeed, Mr Owers cannot locate the team's pre match base, this may go some way to ...

TIME FOR ACTION BUT IT MUST BE LAWFUL.

Be fantastic to go back to the ' Pre Madonna' era. Thinking prior to 1984 hits Holiday and Like A Virgin. Saturday night football in Division 4. What we wouldn't give for that now. As soon as Miss Ciccone came on the scene it's been downhill for TUFC.....bottom of the Football League, brief resurgen...

Torquay United v Hampton & Richmond 25/08/2018

Very, very poor today. Only bright moments came from Keating in the second half. One or two observations.....If Brett Williams is captaincy material there is a chance that I will be the next heavyweight champion. Captains lead by example, they inspire, they cajole, they fight their team's corner. No...

The World Cup and TUFC

Very tenuously......Miranda Hart was born in Torquay. Brazilian player Miranda may or may not have taken his playing name as a tribute to her and her Torquay heritage..... we just don't know!

The World Cup and TUFC

Jamie Vardy scored his first goal for Leicester at Plainmoor in a League Cup match.

Thirty Years Ago Today

Back in the 1980's......the Wembley Cup Final every time!! I never expected to see TUFC a Wembley. Fantastic day out, train from Torquay...full of optimism on the way up...though a bit flat on the way back. The noise when Dean Edwards scored....and the fastest he ever ran in his life to get to the T...

Ebbsfleet on Saturday

23rd and final opportunity to walk away from Plainmoor disappointed this season....12 defeats already and some of the most abject performances I have ever seen. At the end of today the loan players pack up and go back home. The likes of Healy and Lemonhaigh Evans have a bright future in better teams...

Torquayunited v FC Halifax 14/4/18

Funny how the mind plays tricks, could have sworn we won that one!
You're right Mr Arcadia, I should have stuck to hockey. I retired from playing after 36 years service at the end of last season so I haven't missed a home game at Plainmoor since.....enough to send anyone doolally.

Torquayunited v FC Halifax 14/4/18

Grand National day 2007. Torquay win 1-0 with a goal from Reuben Reid. Go to pub, watch recording of the race, switch to Grandstand to see all other results have gone against TUFC and we are out of the League for the first time. Fast forward to today and we could be dropping out of the National Leag...

Torquay v AFC Fylde 11/04 (was pp on 3/3/18)

Looking for any positives from last night. Brett Williams takes a good penalty. Clark, Gowling and McGinty are fantastic at the game 'Musical Statues'. The way they all stopped as one for Fylde's 3rd goal had to be seen to be believed.

Dover v Torquay Utd. SAT 7TH APRIL. ko.3PM

A valid point about the budget Mr Teigngull. The on pitch playing problems started 12 months ago when the hirers and firers at the Club first allowed Kevin Nicholson to remain in situ, only to sack him four games into the season....and then add to the problem by not appointing a permanent manager fo...

What is required

The four club's immediately above us to go into administration.... today.
Failing that, a Royal Decree that all clubs with Torquay in their name cannot be relegated this year.

Enough chances to win handsomely.....Enough scares to have thrown it away.
We can't turn back the clock.......but Jamie Reid managed to nudge it on 20 minutes soon after coming on. Another job for the ground staff!

Easter Monday, Torquay v Woking, 2/4/18

The machines will need to be up to scratch as the rain has returned. Shame they weren't in place last Saturday. Hopefully they have been paired up front with a couple of pitch covers.
Hoping to see a win by any method should the game be on.
