Re: striker
Why the hell do people want Akinfenwa? He was a half-decent player when with us before but nothing extra special and since then he seems to have spent all of his time in the gym. He has to be the most immobile person employed as a professional footballer. You can't even stick him up front as a targe...

Re: Player off to Villa
How is this good news? We have a player snatched away from us for next to nothing so that he can go to a 'Big Club', get farmed out to a lower league team on loan before being released and ending up back where he started. This is not good news for us. Good for us would be him staying here, learning ...

Re: Retain or Release?
I think Phil is on about the delay in signing contracts, which I seem to recall costing us Jo, rather than his lack of quality as a player Indeed, as I remember it he agreed to sign a new contract after his holiday but somewhere in between the airport and TQ1 he got nabbed by Leroy and ended up sig...

Re: Retain or Release?
According to todays Herald Express Knill is in advanced talks with Saah and Downes re new contracts but most of the other players are on holiday so contract negotiations are on hold until they return. Also says Knill will be using his contacts with Moyes and the Man U coaching staff to try and brin...

Re: Who will go up from League 2 next season ?
Sad fact is it'll be whoever has the most money.
Can't remember who but someone on Sky said over the weekend that the Premier League table pretty much always reflects the wage bills.

Re: Ling Sacked
manse found out thru skysports news - again class Pretty shocking behaviour from the board. It doesn't matter what business you're in, as soon as you've done telling the guy he's sacked you then tell the people who worked for him. The last thing any business needs is rumour and speculation being al...

Re: Ling Sacked
This doesn't look like it's been handled at all well. If their tweets are anything to go by the players haven't been told officially, only what they are getting from the web, same as us.

Re: Director Of Football
Warnock has hinted at wanting an 'upstairs' role but however fond he is of TUFC his heart really lies down the road. I do like the idea of a 'footballing' person on the board but it has to be done carefully. They need a very specific job spec that is made clear to the manager to avoid any toe steppi...

Re: Joke police
Just ignore BritishGas, he'll soon find out he just supports another little local club when the Pompey hoardes turn up next season. After they've sold out their away allocation and put a few hundred in the home end I wouldn't be surprised to see them outnumber the home fans at every away game next s...

Re: Yeovil Town
Very well spotted that I got the year wrong. And how convenient that you use that mistake to try to disprove my point, rather than correct it. So, delete 2011, and add in 2010, and the point remains exactly the same. But that's only the recent history. Go back further and we were an established 3rd...

Re: Who to sign?
There aren't many professional sportsmen that consistently perform at the very best of their ability. I'm not going to say we overachieved last season because I agree with you, that's not possible. What I will say is Olejnik and O'Kane were better than this year's replacements. And the rest of the s...

Re: Who to sign?
An 'overhaul' will not be required. Most of our players are actually quite good at League Two level and the team's lack of success in recent months is not solely a reflection of individual players' abilities or loss of form. It has also been caused by a number of other factors which have been discu...

Re: Shaun North
And another thing, if we sack Martin Ling and Shaun Taylor they're going to need to be compensated. Where's that money going to come from? The footballing budget. What else comes out of the footballing budget? The transfer kitty and player wages. If we do sack them both we will have even less money ...

Re: Shaun North
A coach who performs some assistant duties. Oh my good lord, all the more reason to get rid of him, said before say it again, what does anyone think an assistant manager actually does. It's damn site more that set the cones out and do the warm ups for christ sake. What does anyone actually think th...
