Who?
Football managers certainly get better through periods of inactivity. Seems to have been completely forgotten how bad we were towards the end of Lings tenure.

Who?
It was wrong when Hargreaves was making noises about Knill's job, and it's wrong that Ling is doing it about Hargreaves. As for who we should get, we need to forget about 'previous connections' and just give it to the best man for the job. Actually invite applications, and after interview decide who...

Who?
He was working under the kind of constraints that would have given our subsequent managers serious sleep issues.
You're right though, we should look elsewhere. We don't deserve him after that '10 minute fiasco'.

In 2 years time, we'll be crying out for a player of his quality. He was ahead of his time.Rjc70 wrote: Wring had a mare.

I'll pretend I didn't read that. Good doesn't begin to describe Sir Leroy. Got us promoted automatically (with Roy Macs team blah, blah, blah). Got fired for failing to keep us up - despite there being virtually zero intent from above to make it happen. He did it all on his own too. 'Signings' were ...

Leroy of course. He should ALWAYS be manager. Preached football from the gods.

What's Gone Wrong
We all saw him as an integral player in the summer but his pre-season injury set him back. Hargreaves could hardly change the defence in those first 11 games . Pearce had to be patient and when he's been given chances he simply hasn't taken them. He wouldn't be in and out of the team if he played w...

What's Gone Wrong
The reason Pearce didn't start the season as first choice was because he wasn't match fit. We kept eight clean sheets in our first 11 games with Downes and Angus at the back. That has been our best partnership this season in defence. If Pearce is sulking because he didn't get the captaincy when he ...

What's Gone Wrong
At the end of last season, most of us doubted Pearce would even be here this season. He was head and shoulders above the rest last season, and it seemed inevitable he'd be poached by a league club. Having kept him, I felt sure he'd be given the captaincy, with the manager showing the faith in him he...

Should bode well for the rest of the season then, because I imagine most people's expectancy is zero now.tommyg wrote:they perform better when there's no expectation on them.

Goodbye Hargreaves
There has to be an element of realism here. Hargreaves won’t be sacked, because why would an outgoing owner/chairwoman, who has already given the club millions, pay more from her own pocket to get rid of him? He’s someone else’s problem now. As for the idea he’ll resign. Football manager of ...

Happy Talk...
I assume Mr Hargreaves is aware that all out of contract players are free to sign for clubs now? It isn’t just ours that can go elsewhere – the doors do actually function in both directions. Or at least I assume they do. Perhaps that’s another area in which we’re cutting back. I mention it ...

WTF is going on
He was sacked because we were on a clear and decisive downward spiral. Knill didn't improve things and nor has Hargreaves. Circumstances within the club clearly didn't help any of them, but none of the 3 covered themselves in any glory.

Unfortunately so. Hence me specifically saying he's had no 'tangible POSITIVE effect' on any of them...
