Re: League 2: Southend United vs Torquay United
Brett, why do you think Ling should go? It's not like he has the money to go out and buy decent players that could make a real difference is it? He took the job on knowing it would be tough, once the proposed budget was known Buckle couldn't get out of the door quick enough and it's not like we wer...

I also agree that Saah is being unfairly singled out for abuse and criticism. However, I cannot agree with promoting LRT to the centre of defence. Putting him and Ellis in the centre of defence would be like asking a couple of Scouse kids to mind your hub-caps. Ellis has masses of potential but need...

Re: Is Ling being found out?
Ling has to get a forward in. To simply try and rely on what we have is a huge huge mistake. I am not a football manager but even I, simply by scrutinising Atieno's goal record can see he is not the answer. After watching him now for 3 months almost, I am convinced. If he gets as many as 5 goals thi...

Re: Is Ling being found out?
I am also surprised that Saah is not seeming to find or show the form that - on paper - he seemed to have. Saying that, I think Saah is probably getting a disproportionate amount of criticism and if anything the errors seem to come from the left-side of defence which is Robbo and Nico's domain. Howe...

Re: Surely it's time to dip into the loan Market?
Ling said he would wait until there was a 'crisis' because 7 games without a win is obviously nothing to worry about!

Re: Is Ling being found out?
Ling says in his interview that he would only bring in loanees in a 'crisis' and would prefer to try players within club first. So 7 games without a win, 1 win in 11 games, that's not a crisis????!!!...let's just wait for it to get worse before we try something different then, shall we? So what do w...

Re: Is Ling being found out?
My OP was not one to state 'Ling Out!' or anything like that. I am fairly neutral towards him. He has not done too much wrong but not either set the world alight. The year of 'consolidation' is a convenient smokescreen to lower our expectations which we are entitled to have after the last few years....

Re: Frank O'Farrell (Today's non league paper)
Great post stefano. :-D Eric Webber was before time, but not Frank O'Farrell. I'm still wondering how the hell did we miss out on automatic promotion to Division 2 (Championship) in 1967-68 when we were points clear at the top with games in hand ? I still hear the really old timers (I'm only a bog ...

Re: Is Ling being found out?
Fair enough to raise the question I suppose but what exactly do you or anyone else expect when it's well documented that this season is purely one of consolidation? Until the new grandstand is built and paid for and attendances improve, we won;t see much more investment in the playing squad so I pe...

Is Ling being found out?
Probably get lots of stick for this but I don't really care but everytime I hear or read Ling's interviews he comes across like a local league manager who hasn't a clue. Who shall we play up front? Atieno or McPhee? Picks one and invariably substitutes him with the other. Let's face facts. Neither a...

Re: TQ1 Magazine - What do you think?
I think the programme is a massive improvement and I really quite like it. If I am honest, it could probably lose the poster...it tends to fall out and I don't really know what to do with it but I have been impressed with it. First decent programme since 1981.

Craig Stanley
Seems to be fairly persistent rumours on Bristol Rovers forum about a fall-out between Buckle and Stanley and that Stanley will be ade available for loan. Probably untrue but would love to see him come here.

Re: Geoff Harrop
Being youth coach at TUFC obviously pays well. He was looking at £500K houses! Think I recognised the one they chose in the end...if they went through with the move. With having to bring his mother-in-law down as well, I guess he wasn't going to move again in a hurry. (Think his Mrs was in charge an...

Re: Buckle V Fat Boy Evans
Some wonderful flak being aimed at Buckle on the Rovers forum. Quite satisfying to see him getting his comeuppance but much earlier than expected. They are questioning his man-management skills of all things...fancy that!
Can't blame the pitch today. His team selection was bizarre to say the least.

Re: Kuffour leaving Rovers
Kuffour linked with Northampton, Gillingham and Yeovil.
Won't be us.
I see Ling is quoted as saying we won't be signing anyone but that is maybe something he ought to review if Howe is going to be out.
