Re: like for like then
I think Charnock would have been out of contract this summer, and given who things were going he would have been first on the released list. If Robbo does go, I don't feel that we'll need another Centre half. I'd imagine that Saah and Ellis would then start as first choices, but in terms of back-up...

Re: like for like then
For me the signing of Oleginik is a perfectly adequate replacement for Bevan and Saah perhaps may be so for Branston, but Branston did bring about a certain air of leadership and nous that may be difficult for Saah to replicate. I'm afraid I cannot go along with McPhee being adequate to replace Zebr...

Re: What price Zebroski?
From Dave Thomas in today's Herald... But I understand that United have made an immediate, but not substantial, profit on the £25,000 they paid Wycombe Wanderers for him 18 months ago. There is also a 'sell-on' clause to the deal I think this pretty much confirms what we heard from the Brist...

Re: What price Zebroski?
Mansell's gunna have to play out of his skin really. Never rated him there to be honest, thought he looks far more adequate at right back. Think Ling's next couple of signings will be so important. If he brings some players in with obvious quality then then the arrivals of Saah & McPhee won't a...

Re: Robertson next for transfer list
To be honest HappyTorq I think the most important thing with a lot of our supporters will be the way we play the game. If,as seems to be the case,Paul Buckle comes up with a brand of football that is good to the eye and we are not at the bottom of the league then he will be given time to do the job...

Re: What price Zebroski?
Clubs generally just dont do that though do they? Yes he did have a contract with us but he has obviously been offered a better one by Rovers, and he has left for an agreed fee, simple as that. No manager wants to hold onto an unhappy player as it does nothing at all for squad morale. The minute he...

Re: What price Zebroski?
If our board however had any savviness about them, they would not be gift-wrapping our top scorer to rivals of ours in this division. It is not like we have even given him away to a club in a higher division. We have given him to a team that is in our own league and therefore given a team an effecti...

Re: What price Zebroski?
Is it really true that he's only worth what someone will pay for him? In fact, he's more realistically worth what we would accept for him. Nobody foced us to sell him to Bristol Rovers. We should have had a figure in mind, and until they met it, told them to sod off. £35k is such a measly fi...

Re: What price Zebroski?
Surely he's worth what the highest bidder is prepared to pay for him? Doesn't matter if we think he's worth more than £35k, once he wants away, nothing we can do. Also, no use blaming the board, their duty is to get the highest figure as much as it must rankle with them (as much as us). He w...

Re: What price Zebroski?
£35K????? Did they seriously entertain the idea of selling him for that measly price? No wonder the fee is undisclosed. They should be hanging their heads in shame for selling Zebroski so cheaply. Why not chuck in Robertson for free as well. If that fee is true then the club is a joke. God, e...

I think this keeper sounds quite good. Certainly good enough to be a back-up but perhaps even challenge for the no.1 position as well.
