Mr Owers steps down

Had to happen and in my opinion should have happened at the end of last season. Interesting speculation of a football tie up with Bristol City. How would that work? Is there a similar arrangement anywhere else? Don't they have a reserve league team already or would meaningful league(sic) games be m...

Looks like we are going to face some competition in getting next manager. Glenn Tamplin has just sacked another manager at Billericay.

Gary Owers has a proven track record in the NLS - proven crap.

Players probably relieved they are not at Plainmoor. It would have been great if the new man could have begun away from home with less pressure on the team.

Mr Owers steps down

I am a great admirer of how Eastbourne are punching above their weight, but Jamie Howell, I feel, is not the solution. I am hoping we go for broke on the next appointment and get a 'big gun; in. Someone who see's this league for what it is and is capable of putting us in a 'league of our own' raisi...

Is being an ex-player the primary reason for appointing someone manager. Think Saunders, Hargreaves, Nicholson at al.

Go G.O!!

It's somewhat humiliating but we could do a loss worse than being Bristol City's feeder club for a couple seasons, they seem to be sending some decent players down our end.
I wouldn't get too carried away with that. They sent us two players who had one good match so far.

Go G.O!!

However a major stumbling block as with our last recruitment search is 'proven managers' want full control of all football matters which leaves Harrop in limbo. Maybe this time round Harrop will find himself surplus to requirements. Harrop was stood down from any involvement in the football side of...

I don't understand why goody keeps carping on about Jay fecking Saunders - like he is some guru or something. Sacked after 2 wins from 7 this year and managed a 17 game winless run last year. For **** sake get real - we want someone who can actuall win games not another loser. I would rather have T...

I wonder whether the recent reallocation of responsibilities (Owers becoming head of all football matters etc) has something to do with this. Was Harrop stood down from the football side to make way for a new manager, and does the involvement of George Edwards mean Harrop's time is nearly up?

I wouldn't want Johnson. Had youth set up at Yeovil shut down to squeeze a few more pennies for the budget.

The thing is, our club right now does not need an experienced manager, we, as fans need to stop straight away thinking about this big name or that big name. What our club really does need is a manager with a proven non-league track record, someone with a track record of success at NLP/NLS/NLN level...

Deja vu then. For the second year running we sack a manager a few games into the season after he has spunked the budget when it was blindingly obvious he should have gone in the summer. The calibre of the next manager will give a real indication of Osbourne's ambition for the club; will he shell out...
