Re: Anyone else missing Carayol yet?
Chris Sutton has just resigned. He might be asking to come back before long.

Re: SCOUTING TALENT
So we seem to be on our normal run again of winning eff all. We are not scoring goals. I said earlier in the year that we should be scouting affordable talent in the non-leagues. I mentioned Craig Reid at Newport and somebody said he is unproven now he is banging goals in for fun in the BSP. Six mo...

Re: Torquay vs Aldershot Match Thread
Just when i was beginning to think i'd got him wrong, Bucks is now going out of his way to prove i (and others) were right all along. What on earth has he done? How has he turned a solid, effective and most importantly winning team into something of a shambles within a month? His insistence on over-...

Re: Kieran Charnock
Can certainly understand that thinking Jamie, and it's probably the more sensible option. I'd just like us to enter this game with a completely positive attitude.
The most important change is the formation though. As long as we go 4-4-2, i'll be reasonably satisifed.

Re: Kieran Charnock
We're at home. We need to be positive. If Senda is fit enough to play again so soon, i hope he does.RussianGull wrote:If Ellis is still out I hope Kieran gets a start tonight, keep Robbo at rightback

Re: Torquay vs Aldershot Match Thread
As from the other thread, my 'home' formation and team-sheet. 4-4-2 (This is most important). Bevs in goal. Senda - if fit enough for another game so soon. we need an 'attacking' mentality Ellis - if fit, if not Robbo again Branno - and give him the captaincy, we need some leadership Nico - no reaso...

Re: Paul Buckle’s Head
The other drawback of O'Kane playing in the centre of the pitch, is that he would spend so much time 'battling' that we'd likely lose the parts of his game that make him so special in the first place. Part of the reason that Wroe looks increasingly inneffective now is that he's having to spend more ...

Re: Paul Buckle’s Head
Yeah, he's not an 'out-and-out' winger in the football-dictionary definition of the perfect wide-man. But the point i'm making is that it doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't perform well there. The ideal winger would obviously have pace amongst his attributes, but it's not the only skill they need....

Re: Kieran Charnock
Senda wasn't obviously lacking fitness. He tired, because he was asked to cover a lot of ground - as an attacking full-back, that goes with the territory. We were naturally going to be more 'open' than in previous weeks, because our right-back was spending much of his time in advance of the half way...

Re: Paul Buckle’s Head
I'm not sure i agree that just because he doesn't have lightening pace, he can't play wide. He's not a complete slouch. Ryan Giggs still plays on Man Ut'd left-wing, and he doesn't have great pace anymore. Indeed, our own Wayne Carlisle doesn't rely on speed to cause defenders problems. O'Kane is an...

Re: Kieran Charnock
I'm not sure about the 'two left-footed centre-halves argument' (although it might well be true). Lots of teams play with two right-footed players there, so not sure there's much difference? I think the principle reasons were a) Charnock didn't have a great game for the reserves on Tuesday, and b) m...

Re: Paul Buckle’s Head
You could also argue that Wayno isn't ready yet either. He hasn't looked fit to me since he came back. I think we have to give Kee a run in the side, tell him he is starting the next 4 games to take some pressure off and see what he can do. I've seen Wayno playing centre-midfield, in the hole and a...
