Re: Jordan Chapell to sign
Yes, good news this. Shame we couldn't have got Labadie as well because I, like some others, think that we need a more imposing presence in the middle of the park too.

Perhaps he waiting to see where Martin Ling ends up since they seem to follow each other around the football world!

Re: League 2 fixtures 2013/14
Yes, we have the same response here in Argyle-land where our hardy ban of Gulls supporters are being told that we and Exeter are going down and Argyle will be in the mix for promotion. Don't mind optimism but when its accompanied by glee at our apparent difficulties it does grate. Mind you the main ...

Re: Manse on Twitter
Oh dear, oh dear. Social-media is awash with people completely taking this incident out of context. I'm not saying anyone here is saying this, but I'll have my say... I'd much rather live in a community of honest law-abiding muslims than a community of naïve, ignorant, opinionated and reactionary ...

Re: Player to bring in (suggestions)
Not Robinson. Please. He went missing so often I nearly sent out a search party. Epic in the 5-0 play-off though. But when people have been complaining of Rene's inconsistency and disinterestedness, why bring in another much the same?[/quote] But he has got pace as well as skill on the ball. Pace op...

Re: Best, Worst, and most important games of last season!
How about Aldershot at home for worst, best and most important all in one game?
0 - 3 down 5 minutes into the second half - worst
4 - 3 win at the final whistle - best
Had we lost that game we would have been relegated and Shots would have survived - most important!

Re: Danny Stevens - Thankyou
I remember Danny's first game for the Club - he was on trial in a PSF (can't remember which one) and had a storming game, running rings around his more experienced opposite number. I was so impressed I called out "sign him up Buckle!" At which point PB turned round (I was in the old Grands...

Re: Alan Knill CONFIRMED as new Torquay manager
Great news that terms have been agreed so quickly but this is hardly a surprise - I still reckon he had been promised the job when he was called in subject to retaining our league status.

Re: Could get interesting .....
There are some skeletons which will leap out of the cupboard if he goes public against his former employers!
That would probably mean he would never get another management job in football.
I do not expect him to do so, however, because he will almost certainly be bound by a compromise agreement.

Sanctions for Clubs entering administration
Its that time of year again when the forum goes a bit quiet so I thought I would try and liven things up with a rant, a rant that my son puts to me very forcefully. The rant is - why are Clubs allowed to massively overspend and therefore cheat their way to success and then, when they go bust - causi...

Re: Retain or Release?
I believe Benyon, Jarvis and Yeoman can do a really good job for us up front but we do need more pace on the wings - these are priority areas for me.

Re: Did League Survival cost Lingy his job?
I think Fonda is probably close to the mark with his theory that Knill and Brass were incentivised with offers of permanent jobs. If correct, survival was bound to spell the end for ML.

Re: Martin ling
Ling wants his son to tell his son to shut the feck up. Whatever way you want to swing it Lings position at this football club was untenable. After giving Simon Baker a fair bit of stick I would just like to apologise to him, I stood next to him at the Morecambe game and he seems a really nice genu...
