New Signings for the 2023-2024 Season

Personally, I’ve given up on trying to make a call on what represents a decent signing for us or not, especially after the last couple of summers. Take last summer for instance- was I more excited by the signing of Corrie Andrews or Aaron Jarvis? Well, I should say that that turned out differently t...

Recruitment since the Play Off Final …

Just spent some time looking at our recruitment since that dreadful day at Ashton Gate. We can all bemoan the players we have lost in those last two years but the quality of their replacements have, I think we can all agree, has not not been at anywhere near the previous level. Leaving aside loanees...

Chesterfield v Torquay United, 7.45pm, Tuesday 18th April 2023.

When you see their line up …. it’s little surprise that they are streets ahead of us tonight. The like of Palmer; King; Mandeville, Colclough, Dallas and McCallum have all caused us problems, and I think have scored against us probably, for all their previous teams. Was always going to be tough! 😒

Scunthorpe United v Torquay United, 3pm, Saturday 1st April, 2023

Totally agree. If we had started the season with this squad we would have been comfortably mid table at least. The likes of Lawrence, Dawson and Nouble and to a certain extent Stobbs and Collins have improved us considerably. Unfortunately though it is the “loan” players in the main, with all the pl...

Gateshead v Torquay United - 18th March 2023

A hard earned point, but not really enough, from what I gather, Gateshead probably deserved more...But GJ tonight, come on, is he for real??, You've signed Dawson and Stobbs KNOWING they've hardly played this season, and then you turnaround and moan about it??, well if you knew that, why get them i...

Gary Johnson, stick or twist?

Do you think GJ will stay if we are relegated? If it’s looking increasingly unlikely that we’ll avoid the drop and the manager leaves / will not be retained then why not cut the losses now and give someone else a shot? I agree. Regardless of what you think of Gary Johnson it really doesn’t matter n...

Ex-Gull watch

What a day for Jamie. Starts on the bench and scores 88th min penalty. Yes, great to see that …. and didn’t he enjoy the moment! It got me thinking about our former players and how good some of them were, particularly when you watch some of the FACup ties and see how so many have featured in the 3r...

Torquay United v Woking - Mon 29/08/22

Think we lack the big characters you need at this level. Just seen the goals back on BT. What you didn’t see was the Woking centre half take one full on the face on the line to deny Goodwin who hit it really powerfully. He couldn’t continue but he saved his team a certain goal. Then you see the path...

PSF TUFC vs Plymouth Argyle 19.7.22

Seems like Plymouth felt sorry for us and brought on their entire under 13 side in the second half. To be honest its not great. Not the case at all Brucie! Of the 8 subs they brought on after 70 minutes, SIX of them featured regularly for them in League One last season. Just shows the strength in d...

Transfer News & Signings

Reports suggesting Liam Davis back in training… maybe training for fitness, potential player coach? Gives us a backup option to Dan Martin as I think we can all agree moxeys days at left back are numbered Ah, would love that. Great player and lovely guy. Just hope it’s not BS - he deserves better t...

Transfer News & Signings

Trialist Marcus Day has re signed for Bristol Manor Farm. Any ideas on last nights numbers 19 and 7? Not surprised, he had a poor game last night. No idea who 7 was, but in truth he wasn’t great against Exmouth. I believe (although might be wrong!) that the number 19 was Shaun Donnellan (ex Maidenh...

Wrexham at home

Lead to believe “Sinclair Armstrong & 2 other new faces are set to be signed and ready for Wrexham on Saturday. Gary is set to be looking at a CDM from a top level NLS side. Lapslie set to be out for a while with another setback. On the basis that NONE of the FOUR signings you predicted back in...

Transfer talk.

You ask the question - why can’t we develop players like Josh Key and sell them on for £1 million +? Take a look at his Wikipedia page ! Went to Cuthbert Mayne school and was with the TUFC academy until it was closed down in 2015 ….. then joined Exeter. Yet another one we missed out on! The talent i...

Torquay United v Eastleigh Sat 1 May KO 3pm

Was it down to the number of loan players we could play ?? Don’t think it was on this occasion Dutch as we only had 4 named in the squad (Sherring;Randell;Boden and Kimpioka) and you can name up to 5. I guess Tomlinson missed out to make way for the return (from injuries) of Little and Kimpioka and...

29 May 2021. Who will be Top of the National League?

Only just realised that it was announced yesterday that the Hartlepool v Weymouth fixture scheduled for this Saturday has been rescheduled for the final day of the season (both teams were without a fixture due to the non participation of Macclesfield and Dover) which means that Hartlepool do not now...
