Where did it all go wrong.....
Things were going wrong before Ling left. We wouldn't have dispensed with him otherwise. Did things get worse after he left? Possibly. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. At the time, it was probably the right decision. Lets not re-write history.

"They've made a bid. We're waiting for the money to arrive in our account," acting chairman Bill Phillips said.
What a brilliant quote.

Takeover 50/50 ?
Apathy reigns at Plainmoor, what a surprise. We can all bemoan our misfortune, indeed I believe it's in the DNA of those born in the Bay Area to do so. In reality, the only thing those with TUFC in their heart can do which *may* have a positive effect is to join TUST. If the very people that should ...

Takeover 50/50 ?
Unfortunately, 'passion' is only one of a number of things needed. If we've reached the stage that individual supporters are expressing an interest, desperate doesn't begin to cover it.

Is Hargreaves fit for purpose?
Sorry if my post seemed a bit harsh or a pop at you Fonda, Im becoming a grumpy old bugger and I get narked at these little nitpicky type of things. There are quite a few posters on here using the "legend" "club legend" title too easily for a certain few players and I just dont ...

Hargreaves 'wants chance'...

Nothing really to see here. Man whose job is under threat pleas for time.

Just an Idea...
I think Hargreaves as assistant to Sturrock (or someone similar) would have been perfect from the start. But Hargreaves had a decent job before this one and I imagine he wouldn’t have come to Torquay at all unless he was given the top job. And I doubt his ego would accept someone coming in above h...

Is Hargreaves fit for purpose?
I agree with Mr. Chunkygull. Robin Stubbs if a club legend; is Hargreaves anywhere near him? No. So we're only allowed one? This club has had precious few moments of real significance, or players of true quality. Hargreaves provided one of those moments, so in TUFC terms it's probably not too far-f...

Is Hargreaves fit for purpose?
It was a slightly ironic description. I agree, the term gets bandied about too readily. Having said that, he led us back into the league so will always have a special place in the history of the club.

I'm sure 'we' as supporters can. But I doubt Hargreaves appreciates it too much.

Of course. But being the only TUFC manager to have enjoyed a (relatively speaking) large budget, his achievements can't really be compared fairly with others.Gullscorer wrote:A huge budget would help any manager..

Not forgotten by me! I was losing patience with him before he left. The terrible attendance at Exeter (even though it was on the telly) for his first game missing showed how frustrated people were getting. I think you may be able to make an argument that it was his illness that caused his seemingly...

Is Hargreaves fit for purpose?
Can't imagine any fan enjoys watching the team being humiliated 5-1 at home to part-time footballers. Personally would have loved Hargreaves to succeed as a manager. What could be better than a 'club legend' leading the club to promotion as manager, having already done so as a player? Unfortunately ...
