Things were going wrong before Ling left. We wouldn't have dispensed with him otherwise. Did things get worse after he left? Possibly. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. At the time, it was probably the right decision. Lets not re-write history.

Unfortunately, 'passion' is only one of a number of things needed. If we've reached the stage that individual supporters are expressing an interest, desperate doesn't begin to cover it.

It was a slightly ironic description. I agree, the term gets bandied about too readily. Having said that, he led us back into the league so will always have a special place in the history of the club.

I'm sure 'we' as supporters can. But I doubt Hargreaves appreciates it too much.
