Guy Gnabouyou leaves!

He showed better touches and passing in 30 minutes against Gateshead than Keating has for the past 2 months.

Gary Owers

I don’t doubt Owers’ ability to setup a team to win matches - I think we’ve seen that from the improved team performances, some results, and the relative improvement of the players that were already in the squad when he arrived. However, I do doubt his ability to bring in players of the sufficient q...

Torquay v Gateshead

I thought in terms of shape and closing down we were setup fine, as we have been for a while. Until 80 minutes what did Gateshead create? Nothing. We do well to win the ball back a lot of the time, but we are just lacking quality going forward. Mcquoid, Reid and Keating were poor, Keating’s touch wa...

Torquay v Hartlepool 28/10/17

Those who fail to close down and prevent crosses are the first priority I would venture to suggest and if intelligence is correct, then moves are afoot to address that immediate problem. Been calling for Higgins to be dropped for over a month now and it seems his failings were at fault for the firs...

Jazzi Barnum Bobb

I remember Jazzi from his time at Watford Academy when my son was there. I think you could discover he is being lined up to put pressure on Higgins to perform more efficiently in his current first team slot. Why should his name be a wind up? Good, Higgins has failed to live up to his pre-season hyp...

Jamie Reid (again, probably)

If you read what I wrote you will see that I challenged him, I didn’t “have a go at him” This comment is great! I’m sure you “challenging” him will help him to question his performance and therefore improve it. Why didn’t we think of this before? I was standing next to some bloke at the Dover game ...

Torquay v Dover Saturday 7/10/17

I actually enjoyed watching their play - i would happily go to watch them every week if that is their usual standard. Really? We have different preferences on style of play then. I can’t remember Dover stringing more than four passes together and the amount of goal kicks we had because they just ho...

Torquay United v Maidenhead, Match Day Thread 03/10/17

Not meaning to be pedantic, but it's Pittman who is close to returning. Gosling with his broken bone will be out for a good month or two yet. GO will have something of an embarrassment of riches when everyone is back fit. But the quandary is the current starting XI is perfectly meshed with the form...

The Task Ahead with 33 Games to Play

Usually this league consists of 3 or4 teams who are miles ahead of the others. That’s not happening this year and it’s a huge, huge opportunity missed that we are not challenging in the top half.

Torquay United v Maidenhead, Match Day Thread 03/10/17

My second game of the season. I concluded after the first against Boreham Wood (and many games last season) that the problems with our team were with the management and that first half performance has gone a little of the way to vindicate that. We were setup up so much better than at any point in th...

Plenty more fish in the sea so why should they even deserve any respect or consideration? Blokey real men blokes rule and all that macho bloke...

smw1989, I don't know you but comments such as yours show you up for what you are rather than anything else. In my book such statements have no place in this forum. If you want to criticise, fair enough but do so in a constructive way. The salad thing in the summer clearly got his back up so if cal...

Torquay are odds on for this game :O Chester at 11/4 will at least be consolation for another defeat.

Woking v Torquay match thread Monday 28/8/17 3pm

Only thing you can do in this situation is bet on the opposition each week. Woking were 7/5 today, easiest £140 off a ton I will ever make.

All we can do is hope and pray the new manager can work wonders. If not (and yes, I do realise our problems like a lot deeper than that) it'll be all over.
