Re: chris mcphee
"I don't know where I am going to play him" Brilliant forward thinking Ling! Yes - Ling's comments not the most inspiring. Sounds a bit like the local league managers in the Herald when trying to sound like real ones. Unless McPhee has developed some ball control and passing ability, I do...

Re: chris mcphee
Very good call by the person who started this thread and no doubt what he says about the other player is true seeing how this one came up. As for McPhee - I sort of inwardly groaned when I saw it on the official site. I never really rated him and although he did well for Ebbsfleet and Kiddy...it isn...

Re: Alex Russell
Is there a fans forum link for Yeovil? The one via ciderspace seems to be a dead link.

Re: Alex Russell
I juts commented about Russell on other thread before I saw this. I had been thinking that it had all gone quiet and perhaps he was not coming but hopefully this is good news!!!

Re: Craig Easton
Hope this is true and it indeed comes off. It would be a good signing and, as someone suggested, give greater cause for optimisim. As for Alex Russell, one wonders if that would have been sorted by now. The fact it was made public left me hopeful it was going to happen but you would think that if wa...

Re: Shaun Taylor to be assistant....
Quite happy with the appointment of Taylor. Important, I think that Ling has his own man as no.2 but welcome the addition of Russell if that happens. That looks a useful coaching staff.

Re: Successful Season?
I think people prediciting a play-off campaign or around that area are going to be sorely disappointed. I really do expect us to be flirting around the relegation area. I just hope we have enough to be not too worried by it.

Re: Fingers in pies!
I do worry that we are going to end up with trialists to bolster our squad which would be an unwelcome return to the Bateson days. It has been obvious that at the very least we need a keeper and that was obvious before Ling was appointed. Maybe these things are not straightforward but Buckle has dem...

Re: category a and b
I accept category A prices could be applied to Plymouth, Bristol Rovers, Swindon and at a push Oxford. However, the remaining games are ridiculous. Crawley is just a chance to cash in on what they think may be a grudge match but it could have the opposite effect. Asking people to pay £18 to w...

Re: Stevens off....NOT CONFIRMED
It is coming to something when the big news is that we have nearly signed Danny Stevens who hardly anyone wants to keep. I hope Ling has not been wasting too much time pursuing Stevens who is effective for about 13 minutes a year.

Re: Stevens off....NOT CONFIRMED
Today's Janner Indy seems to be suggesting that Ling really wants to keep Stevens. He is going to meet him in London tomorrow or in Torquay on Tuesday to try and persuade him. Why? Seems a lot of effort to go to gor a player who is not good enough. Let him go to Barnet or wherever. Ling also wants t...

Paul Jones
Utterly guess work, but seeing as he has been released by Exeter - which was on the cards for some time - and I know he was on loan at Peterborough but I don't know if he has signed for them or not. However, if not, he would have been at Leyton Orient when Ling was manager. I think Inglethorpe broug...

Re: whos gonna be his first signing?
I just hope that Martin Ling came to the club with a list of players in his head the way Buckle did and has done for Bristol Rovers. I would hate to think that Ling is thinking 'right we need some players, let's see who we can get in' and then we end up with Bateson-style trails in July and just bui...

Re: Stevens off....NOT CONFIRMED
I think it would be best for Danny Stevens to move on. he was really only ever good for us when he first came to Torquay. Each season I think he has got worse. He cannot help his size but he is far too small for League football without having the talent to compensate. Too often he loses possession. ...
