Re: Ex-Gull watch

Jody Banim has just been sacked as manager of Ashton United (Northern Premier League).
He didn't stay long at Plainmoor, but i thought he was good while he was here.

Chorley FC v Torquay United, 23rd November 2019

Mind you, a trip to Scarborough is enough to drive anyone dotty. This coming weekend we're (Whitby Town FC) playing at Scarborough - should be interesting, especially as Deacey's (Scarborough manager) wonders have just lost six games on the trot. O.K., I know this is nothing to do with United - I'm ...

Ex-Gull watch

Yes, Mr. Uptongull, I remember Lita's performance that day very well. He was one of the best footballers I've seen at Plainmoor (excepting Stubbs, Smith, Northcott, Loram, I could go on....).

Re: MOTM - Sutton

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. If anything is a true pointer to how things are going, it is this thread. This is not the worst I've seen by a long way, but it is bad and certainly the worst under Mr. Johnson.
Was GILBERT on parade yesterday?

Re: Torquay United v Sutton United 16/11/19

I occasionally used to take friends to Plainmoor. After years of enthusiasm I usually chose a match which turned into a damp squib - they never came again.

No, I've never heard of Alpine Joe, but I did used to go to a pub called the Alpine in the 60s; it was at the top of Stentiford's Hill.

Re: FA Cup - Torquay United v Maidstone United - ALL TICKET

As usual, there are far more contributions to this site when the team loses badly. I'm not gloating, Whitby Town lost 1-2 away to a lower league team in the Trophy. There is a new site for Whitby Town, the old Fans Forum has been taken down and lost, and so there's no place for criticism and dissent...

FC Halifax V Torquay United 2/11/19

Watching the Official tv highlights, I immediately noticed the two large empty stands. Photographs of the ground from a distance, or from the air, make the ground look impressive, but on closer viewing, via the highlights, I could see quite clearly that these empty stands were decrepit. I wondered w...

I usually wait for the official tv highlights - they're usually longer and clearer.

The return of GILBERT

I see that he was there (at the beginning of the game at least) at the Wrexham match. It looks like he's been taken on full-time.

The return of GILBERT

Just watched the TUFC TV view of the Barrow game. I was very pleased indeed to see that GILBERT has returned to the fold. I wonder if he is a new GILBERT (or even GILBERTA)? He seemed a little hesitant, but then we judge every GILBERT by the incomparable OneCanLasher , whose performances as GILBERT ...

The only way to resolve this very serious issue is to BRING BACK GILBERT!!
