Re: Mark Ellis to Crewe ....

He is a professional footballer. His heart is far more likely to be in his wallet. He has been messed around by TUFC primarily by The Weasel, and until the injury to Saah was not given much opportunity by Dinger. When given his chance he has taken it. In fact, despite what his detractors tell us, so...

Re: Mark Ellis to Crewe ....

Ellis at Forest Green - yeah right. He is going to be the biggest miss of the three players. Wait and see. Brucie speaks the truth. Some of those dismissing Ellis are merely grinding the same old axes. You would have thought the fact that Crewe want him for Div 1 might alert them to their prejudice...

Re: Mark Ellis to Crewe ....

£70k would be a laughably insulting figure for someone of Ellis's potential.

First Bobby, perhaps Eunan and now this. I know that we are a selling club but this is rubbing salt into the wounds.... :@

Re: It just got worse ... Bobby to Posh?

My reaction to this news is summed up by Graham Taylor at 0:34 on this clip:

Unless there are at least 500k reasons to justify it...

Re: Leeds United pre season game at Plainmoor

I like the idea that Don Revie changed the kit to all white because he wanted Leeds to be the Real Madrid of England. If it hadn’t then filled those shirts with the likes of Billy Bremner, Norman Hunter, Jack Charlton, Gary (careless hands) Sprake, Paul Madeley and Trevor Cherry then his wants mig...

Re: Martin Lings comments on the players

My choice is a free gutter Press rather than one controlled by the EU Soviet. With freedom comes responsibility. That doesn’t mean that the only other option is state control. Why should there be only two extremes? There is surely a middle ground? What we need is a lot more honour and integrity f...

Re: Martin Lings comments on the players

Scurrilous nonsense the like of which we see in the media all too frequently.

We haven’t got a story today lads and we need to fill the space, let’s make one up...

Re: Torquay United v Cheltenham Town - 17.5.12

Limitations exposed

Lack of quality up front.

Not ready for Div 1 yet anyway.

Did Morris really play at a higher level?

Season over.

Goodnight.

Re: Can we do it?

Of course we can. Because football “is a funny old game”, and we have four of the best players in the division. How many have Cheltenham got? It will be difficult without Rene, but not impossible. Any early goal and a rocking Plainmoor will put them in the hot seat. I’m on the Blue pill and in...

Re: cheltenham town v torquay united - 13/5/12

Agree with you Forza, but I also think that we have run out of players as well. I thought the story of the match was that Atieno ain’t no Rene. Equally NRT is generally used to run down time. But to get a goal back? But football is a fickle old fellow. If Jarvis had scored that sitter then at 2-1 ...

Re: Play off Winners to Final League Position Comparison

You know because you are very clever? I claim a fig roll. Back to the OP; So over the last four years the winner has finished in each one of the four play-off positions. That is statistically neat if not particularly helpful as a guide. I too was surprised that 4th place is dominant. It is obv...

Play-Off Musings

1988 Beaten Finalists 1991 Won 1994 Beaten Semis 1998 Beaten Finalists 2008 Can’t remember 2009 Won 2011 Beaten Finalists Won 2 out of 7 attempts which is slightly ahead of the game. Finalists 5 out of 7 attempts which is a fantastic record. Statistically, given that they are a lottery, this looks...

Re: In hindsight, thankyou Southend?

Nail hit on head re cup ties, albeit the 2-legged semis and 1-off final are slightly different beasts.

The travel thing though cuts both ways so I can't see an advantage there.
