Torquay United v Grimsby Town – Saturday 18th October

So: who's the worst United 'keeper ever? Martin Rice or Mark Coombe (I'd go for Coombe.)

That clip gives a fairly good example of the quality of Stubbsy. But we've all seen more spectacular goals from him, haven't we?

Mind you, Tommy Northcott is one of my all-time heroes too.

Yes, he was that good. I idolised him then, and I idolise him now!
No-one (in my time since 1963)has ever come near him in terms of skill, adventurousness, excitement, originality, power and - above all - grace. Yes, that was our Robin.

50th Anniversary-Torquay v Spurs-FA Cup Third Round.

I was there! Absolutely packed out on the pop. side with Spurs and United followers together - no segregation, no trouble. A great game, in fact, for those who were there, the unforgettable one. Imagine, Jimmy Greaves, Alan Gilzean, Brown, Marchi and many more illuminati along with Tommy Northcott, ...

Trevor Shepherd - now you're talking! With Robin alongside him we had arguably the best forward line ever (with Ronnie Barnes). I would have liked to have seen Tommy Northcott in that line-up but, foolishly, he was released in 1966.

Any goal by Robin; especially his FIVE against Newport County when we won 8-3.

I agree with Mr. Mark. Two competent full-backs are now essential.

This year's Gilbert

Well, exactly, Mr. Danny. GILBERT needs to get his arse into gear and do some entertaining, after all that's what he's there for. Don't tell me the old GILBERT has re-appeared.

Trojan 67 is one of the greats of this site (along with brucie, hector, glostergull, tomogull and anyone who saw Robin in his prime or remembers the great Tommy Northcott and the equally great John Smith). I wonder of the 'Wayno' he mentions is Wayne Thomas - it surely can't be Wayne Dobbins.
