Re: Torquay Summer Transfers Thread INs and OUTs
Whoever he signs up I feel they need to have a certain degree of experience given the youthful nature of our squad, particularly an experienced centre back and central midfielder to help guide the players we already have, and obviously a couple of keepers, one experienced and one developing i would ...

Re: Over-achievement
I think we overachieved given the size of our budget compared to those around us, and the fact that the season before we had finished in the bottom half of the league. I thought before the start of the season we'd be good for midtable but didn't believe we had enough strength in depth to challenge f...

Re: Your worst ever XI
Right, worst ever team. Been tough, quite a few contenders for a starting position GK Jamie Attwell RB Lee Andrews LB Stephen Reed CB Stevland Angus CB Martin McNeil RM Jimmy Benefield LM Les Afful CM Jules Mendy CM Gary Brabin ST Habib Sissoko ST O'Neill Donaldson Subs Olafur Gottskalksson, Matt Vi...

Re: Martin Ling
I never said it was a huge over-achievment, but it was an over-achievment. How many of us really expected to be in the play-offs at the beginning of the season? We had a decent squad, one which was well capable of achieving a good position, but it would never have been one I would have backed to ach...

Re: Martin Ling
A thoroughly honest piece from SB about why they chose Ling and did not go with the likes of Forster or Hughes. They clearly wanted someone with experience, which ruled out a few of the applicants, and someone with good contacts, which seems to have been why they did not go with Hughes. He would hav...

Re: whats is the matter with us
Could not agree more with the OP. I understand many fans are disappointed, and I was too, and that this frustration has come from having had a very stressful last few weeks and also losing Branno earlier today, but some of the comments have been absurd. Martin Ling hasn't even been in the job 24 hou...

Re: Welcome the new Gaffer
Agreed. Although I wasn't the happiest with the appointment when I first heard, we need to give the guy time and support. He's had a bad spell at one club, but so do a lot of managers. He's also had one very good spell at another club, so lets wait and see what he does for us. Good luck Martin!

Re: Branston going... NOW OFFICIAL !!
Absolutely gutted. Can understand the club not wanting to risk two years on a 33 year old who has been known to have dips in form, but he was immense the season just gone and at the end of the one before for us, so I would have been willing to take a punt. He seemed to make others around him more co...

Re: Martin Ling
Quite shocked about this news, seems to have come out of the blue, never heard his name mentioned once. Was hoping for Forster or Hughes tbh. Ling had a decent spell in charge of Orient but did not impress at Cambridge but everyone is allowed one bad spell in charge of a club i suppose (let's hope B...

Re: Your best ever XI.
Going by choosing a team of players during my time supporting Torquay, I have finally decided on this line-up GK Neville Southall RB Andy Gurney LB Brian McGlinchey CB Steve Woods CB Wayne Thomas LM Kevin Hill RM Chris Zebroski CM Alex Russell CM Jason Fowler FW Rodney Jack ST David Graham Subs Kevi...

Hi
Hi, been reading the forum for a while so thought it was time to join. My name is Lee and I am 22, been supporting Torquay since the 96/97 season. Had several brilliant experiences over that time, the most memorable being avoiding relegation at Barnet, getting promoted at Southend and beating Cambri...
