Clark Osborne/Jim Parker Interview

Football is not a normal business, our club is woven into the fabric of the community and so the council need to act earlier in any negotiations (i.e. 50% council ownership of any stadium built under a non-resale/non sub-let leasehold of 99 years) to prevent any future Bristol or Brighton or Coventr...

Worthing v Torquay United - Saturday 27th January 2024

I've penciled in the diary to attend this match but I do not fancy our chances. Nonetheless, for illogical and foolish emotions I just cannot give Worthing the win.

Worthing 0 - 1 Torquay

Clark Osborne/Jim Parker Interview

Totally agree, Brewers. All seater stadiums have killed the atmosphere at most grounds, keeping the terraces is essential. We have a smashing little ground, big enough for whichever league we are ever likely to be in. Of course, we rely on money being put in but if the current owners pull out I wou...

Re: Torquay United v Dover Sat 20th

In his post match interview Johnson says the club is as much his as it is the fans because he's been hear a long time. Christ he's been a paid employee for five years, there are fans in attendances who can recall the O'Farrell era. Where does the man's arrogance end and his humility begin. For me w...

Re: Chippenham v Torquay Tue 23rd

Holding the ball up to bring a striker or mid-fielder into play is an art in itself and I would concur Asa would be a good option.

Even more annoying when people can't appreciate a win; 3 points; in the play-off spots; and still all to play for.

Taunton Town.

Southend United didn't even break out in a sweat when they received their 18th winding-up petition in the summer. At Taunton It appears to be a PAYE issue - unable to pay wages and associated tax hence players leaving. I'm sure they will be OK but will need to cut their coat according to their cloth.

RIP Kenneth & Bronson Battersby

Just heard that burglars broke into the home of Bronson Battersby and his father the day after their bodies were discovered.

Torquay United v Dover Sat 20th

It's a results game and come Sat we could see ourselves 2 points off 2nd spot with two games in hand on those below us. Aside from Yeovil most of the teams in this league would like to be in our position. And I certainly have not heard other teams supporters screaming sack the manager, get rid of th...

Hereford v Torquay United 3pm 13th January 2024 FATrophy

The standard of football this season has been appalling. We have never really dominated games, have created few scoring chances, have looked weak in many areas and have failed to address problems as the season has progressed. Just where do we go from here?? A fair reflection of our season. Where do...

Injuries.

To think that Ipswich Town turned down a £300,000 bid from Huddersfield for Crowe when he was 18 with the Tractor Boys holding out for a £500,000 compensation fee. Even Manchester United, Arsenal and Celtic all showed interest in him. He was even in England's under-18 setup having represented Englan...

Taelee73 wrote: 12 Jan 2024, 07:57 That should mean hopefully Jarvis and Stobbs back for the match on the 27th ? Gj has said 7 or 8 should also be back by then, so Dawson, Hanson also?
I have a sneaking feeling that we wont see Dawson this season. The silence on his injury and return has been deafening.

Full time/Part time

Location Location Location. Let's be honest, some of our players are miles off others we see week in, week out from visiting teams. A London cabbie earning £100k plus, playing part time for a team within 50 miles of London will not located to Torquay. Simple. . . Not necessarily - it all depends on...
