Re: The Shortlist
Of those, Alex Russell and Chris Hargreaves are only anywhere near the job because of their associations with Torquay. neither should be in the running unless working under someone like Rioch. Holdsworth and McParland have both disappointed as managers and I would be gutted and seriously annoyed if ...

Re: Buckle interview
"I don't care where they are. If they're right for Rovers I'll go all out to get them." There's the stubborn side of me that hopes we turn down whatever price he offers for any of our contracted players. That's my heart ruling my head, but Buckle thinks he can pick our players like he's i...

Re: skybet next manager odds
Alex Russell has soared up the odds a bit even if it is only one or two people betting on him.

Re: Southend United fan in peace
Sturrock really would worry me in one way and reassure me in another. He was ill at Plymouth. At times he looked very ill and you wonder what impact it had on him. Has he recovered or is he still unwell? Is he up to it? Although saying that he has done a reasonable job at Southend this year. He woul...

Re: Matt Williams
So, next genuine question then. What makes his lack of experience any different to that of somebody like Hargreaves (little coaching experience), and Kevin Phillips (little to no experience). Playing careers for a start. Recent ones too. And a lack of credibility too. But you are right to point out...

Re: Matt Williams
I think he is still basically a kid...perhaps 25 at the oldest. I wouldn't have thought he was ready to work with the first team just yet.

Re: Scott bevan.. gone.
Now this to me raises more questions. Simon Baker states that, although out of contract at the end of June, Bevan was on the club's retained list and had been offered slightly improved terms. Therefore, where does this leave Branston? Is he on the retained list? Has he been offered 'slightly improve...

Re: Date of New Manager Appointment
Whilst I can understand the need to make sure that they get this appointment right it is disappointing that it's going to be another week (at least) before an appointment is made - for a number of reasons. Firstly, we have already lost one of our out of contract players (Bevan) and are surely runni...

Re: Date of New Manager Appointment
Whilst I can understand the need not to act in haste and repent at leisure, there is also the feeling that there is some prevericating going on. In other industries recruitment can be much swifter even when the starting date may be some months off. There is no need for it to take so long. It is bord...

The loss of players is my worry too.Richinns wrote:

YOU ARE HAVING A BUBBLE!
Say goodbye to Branno, Bevs, Stanley, Robinson, Tomlin, Oastler then.
Can you imagine what players will be left available after 10 days??? - I can - the ones nobody else wanted.

Re: guy branston latest
just throwing out an idea here :- it's reported on "twitter" that players haven't been offered contracts/not been contacted by club etc etc. has anyone considered this might not be true ?!?!?? much easier for players on their way out to let the fans believe it's the club's fault, and noth...

Re: Scott bevan.. gone.
This is the worry. While it may be argued that for a new manager coming in, it is better for him to choose his own players, it is also difficult for him to need to sign so many players that it disrupts the rythmn of the team and creates factions of old v new. None of us would probably argue that the...
