FC Halifax Town v Torquay United, Match Day Thread, 21st October 2017

A decent point I guess. But what concerns me at the moment is that we are behind on our target to make 50 points. We had to make 1.3 points per game (mid-table form), but by my reckoning GO has had 6 games and has garnered 5 points. So we now need to win 2 and draw 1 of our next 3 just to keep on t...

If your club goes under because you sit by and do nowt then that's not bad luck. It happened because you're a bit dim and one dimensional.

Nice. :red:

GI put the club 'on the market'

At least he sticks by his club. How are York City getting on? Getting close to going under completely and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it, a bit like yourselves i guess. :} Says him who will be supporting a club doesn't even exist come 2025. You're the delusional one sunshine. :)...

Supporters' Liaison Officer

No argument from me, I think the whole notion of SLO's is a load of tosh!

Just pointing out why they wouldn't be paid by the club.

Supporters' Liaison Officer

So in reality it's a positive IDEA and credit for that but again, the club have gone about things in the wrong manner. On the cheap so to speak. It's an important and responsible role and if you take it voluntarily then you are either insane or don't really intend to give the role your utmost. Eith...

Supporters' Liaison Officer

The last sentence. How do you know this Jez? It's being discussed on the other forums but in their recently released accounts there is the following statement: “The Directors are in advanced negotiations to dispose of Riviera Stadium and it’s underlying investment in Torquay United AFC Ltd”. Someon...

I get the impression the club are obliged to do this by the National League. It not an impression - its fact - GI are not into voluntary liaison Nope not a fact. Football League clubs are obliged to but not those in the National League. From the football supporters federation: "Non-league clubs do ...

Read how one of the many part-time clubs to out-think and out-perform 'full-time' United go about their business...... http://www.thenationalleague.org.uk/behind-the-scenes-how-woking-keep-surprising-the-n-40239 Not sure they are really any more part time than us. And yes, when we went on winning runs, no-one thought to comment how unfit the players looked. If you want a very rough sample, then there have been 86 posts on here using the word fitness since the season began, and 9 for the same spell at the end of last season - 4 of which were Dan Sparkes faili...

Owers yet to sign a contract.....

He may or may not have signed a contract (although it seems unlikely he would have left a secure job at Bath to then not sign the very deal he left for) but bear in mind that the whole thing is solely based on one line in a BBC story. The Beeb are hardly known for their accurate reporting of our clu...

No-one complained about fitness when we finished the last two seasons stronger than other sides.
Really? People (including managers and players of opposing sides) have flagged up the poor fitness of our players pretty consistently for the last 2 years.

glad to see owers means business, get rid of the dead wood. Trouble is a number of them are on contracts; a few apparently on two year deals given by the previous manager. Only Chaney and Lathrope, I believe, this is their final year. If we can muster a decent squad and do well I would like to see ...
